Beyond the range of the radio waves, Backwards Guitar can be listened to either live or in the show archives at www.chrwradio.com. Created in September 2007, the objective of Backwards Guitar is to support up and coming bands in the indie music scene by providing their music with an audience. This is done in combination with selectively choosing more well-known bands to play alongside them, with the intention of capturing the attention of the more casual listener by providing something they may already be more familiar with. Given the importance of familiarity to the enjoyment of the music listening experience, this approach will help to draw attention to indie bands that would otherwise go unnoticed by the casual listener when presented with an entire set of music that is completely unfamiliar to them.
