"Sugar coated flowery summer punk along the lines of The Raincoats (but more tuneful), Lush (but less annoying) and Veruca Salt (but with less chicks)... " Andrew Culture - Beat Motel
The Ipswich based Bad A.N.D.Y was formed in September 2005 when Jen placed an ad on partysounds.co.uk for an all girl punk band. Skuff was the 1st to respond to the advert and the fact that he was a bloke didn't seem so important after all. He then quickly recruited lead guitarist Kevin and auditions for drummers began. Drummer Dan then joined the band and after a year of superb drumming on his sparkly kit decided to move on to bigger and better things.
Drummer, Daz joined in late 2006 after some on the spot bongo playing with us at a Stop The War gig and brought with him 25 years of playing in bands. Extreme Noise Terror being one of many. The flowery pop had now changed into a more hard edged, late 70s girl punk pop (how many more cliches can I get in there) kinda thing. The songs on the profile are testament to that new sound, and were recorded and produced by Ian Crow of AmblinMan Studios, in october 2007.
Due to unforseen circumstances, we have said goodbye to bass player Skuff whose groovy bass lines are on the current recordings and we now say hello to Alex from local covers band Teenage Kicks. (Check his profile, in our top friends!!)
With a gorgeous girlfriend in Surrey it seems we will soon be losing Daz and getting a new drummer, although his influence on our sound will always remain. We'll miss ya dude!
