There's me and there's him...always has been always will be. Sometimes people are nice enough to help out, but mostly people are happy to see us running around like idiots trying to make stuff happen.
Influences
Punk, Rock n Roll, Thee Neerlymen, Dinosaur Jr, Ramones, Velvet Underground, Shins, Broken Social Scene, Blondie, Modern Lovers, Pavement, The Fall, Fugazi, Modest Mouse, Television, Bunker Hill, Royal Trux, Rolling Stones, Byrds, The Band, Bob Dylan, Jenny Lewis, Battles, Battle, Thermals, New Pornographers, Oneida, Slint, Holy Fuck, Wolf Parade, Lambchop, Frog Eyes, O, Tortoise, Cranebuilders, Beat Happening, The Pastels, Teenage Fanclub, Jesus and the Mary Chain, Palace Brothers, Flaming Lips, TV on the Radio, Arcade Fire, Moco, Hot Hot Heat, My Morning Jacket, Neutral Milk Hotel, Sebadoh, Sonic Youth, The Pixies, The Breeders, Bright Eyes, White Stripes, Afghan Whigs....
..You get the general jist of it..Just cool shit...no posers...no fucking NME types, No haircut knobheads and definately no uptight arseholes who don't know how to party!!
Sounds Like
Bands we've had on (in no particular order)...Misty's Big Adventure, Loose Canon, Canebuilders, Nice Peter, Dooley Wilson, Ceramic Hobs, High Plane Drifters, Moco, Kong, The KBC, Action, Jim Noir, The Beep Seals, Wax Planet, The Bent Moustache, Autokat, Help She Can't Swim, The Fallout Trust, Gideon Conn, Peter and The Wolf, Serious Sam...and bloody loads more!!
..
...So...
We're into scuzzed guitar madness with driving beats and mental lyrics or folky whimsical country blues darkness or something inbetween slide delta blues or drawn out sludge rock. Can't really describe the breadth of it but if it's rocks like little else then we could be into it. If you've a singer with a fluffy haircut, drainpipes and pointy little elf shoes I wouldn't bother to be honest. You aren't our bag...unless you are actually from the 1960's and a proper mentalist!!
We do sporadic gigs, not as regular as we used to do, so if you're a local band or from the North West you're better off speaking to some of the other local promoters in Preston who do more regular events...we can't be arsed doing it every month we're just too busy being in cool bands and drinking Kestrel Super Strength.
Still, it may be worth letting us know who you are (we'll friend up most bands) drop us a line through here...
