Lee Prince - Storyteller.
"There is a levity to Lee Prince's music that makes you want to smile. Yet as you listen, you get a sense that this veteran singer/songwriter has a message.
In "Pencil Logic," a seemingly innocuous tune, Prince weaves a yarn centered on pencils that go out of control and make mistakes. The user of the pencil, in Prince's world, is absolved of personal responsibility, but the reality is quite different.
In "The Road I Drive," co-written by Marie Nofsinger, the storyteller sings of a man who makes some bad choices but knows that he is the one who chooses his course.
"Scrambled Eggs and Toast," a bubbly Jimmy Buffett type tune, Prince tells the tale of a friend who says someday he'll get away and go fishing but never quite makes it.
For Prince, who's been covering well known songs since the 1960's, music is about fun and he enjoys sharing that with audiences who have come to listen over the years. "I like to play songs that mean something to me and hopefully to someone else," says the West Palm Beach resident, who is perhaps the dean of local acoustic musicians.
While Florida is the backdrop for many of his tunes, it really only comes to the forfront in "The Place You're to Be," a children's song about all that Florida has to offer."
Hey Lee, Thanks for the Howdy... Things are good here in old Virginny. Been tearing up the mandolin in my old age :D Any chance of a visit? All the best, Peter
Hey Sunshine, all is doing good here. I am glad to here your doing good as well. Sure do miss everyone myself. But it seems that we all have moved on to new adventures for the meantime. Do you remember Joe Clark of the Smiley Tuneheads?
