BadCopBadCop are a great big beautiful blossoming flower of Sonic Colour and Visceral Sound, grown in the thick loamy soil of Noise, Psychedelic Rock, Doom, Avant Garde, Punk, and/or Drone musick. Most of our music is implied, rather than actually played.
The core power trio is made up of: A.D. Machine (GRIST, Pig Slash Rhino, The Horn, Fuck You God, HAARK, Forgotten Cairns): abstract drums and clattering. Buffy Tufnel (The Stabs, The Assassination Collective, Bowl of Dick): guitar whirlwind and tinnitus.Elise Bishop (Meat Market, Universal Joint, She Camel of God, On, Elise and Jem, Auxillary Assembly): shockwaves, bowel drone and destruction of bass amps.Occasionally, we also team up with the delectable ball of poison that is Daisy Buchanan, who takes to the vocals like a frenzied cat takes to small native marsupials.
The first time we ever played together was a live-to-air on 3CR. We've tried rehearsing now and then, but it just doesn't seem to work for us. What you get is rare improvised sloppy drug-haze doom visceral total noise grimm chaos love rock n roll joy. And, on top of all that, we're quite nice people too.
This self titled work consists of two extended pieces recorded at MPS studio in 2007, hinged on deep electroacoustic explorations rich in gesture and texture.
Saturday 8th March Sabbatical is proud to present the launch of our 9th series release 'Stable Government and Adequate Sanitation' by Marcus Cook, otherwise known as Default Jamerson. Supports for this evening are Snawklor, Happy Adults, Free Choice and St. John's Ambience (who will kick the show off at 7:30pm with 90 minute drone piece). At The Afterdark, 565 High Street Northcote. Note: 7:30pm start, $5 Entry. Copies of the EP will be available at the launch, and afterwards from Sabbatical.
I miss you guys. We should never have had that fight. Surely the Music is more important than the little differences we have between us in other areas of our lives. I never meant to kill your goldfish and I swear those kittens just drowned, I wasn't even looking at them. I'm sorry that your dad hates me now, but one day he'll forgive and forget. I was just feeling a little bit horny that day, and, well.. you know what happened. It wasn't as bad as the police made it out to be. Thanks for not taking out an AVO on me, I promise I'll make it up to you. Even though the courts prohibit it, I'd love to catch up with the little one too. We are yet to be acquainted, and I'd like to make a good impression in case I need to borrow money in 18 years time.
