Formed in 2002 in Curitiba, south Brazil, Bad Folks is a band you don't meet everyday. It rose from the ashes of key bands from the Southern Brazilian indie scene and soon drew the attention of audiences all over Brazil for its original blend of folk rock, indie aesthetics and punk attitude, experienced at its best during their live shows.
Bad Folks was voted one of the best shows of Curitiba Pop Festival - at the time a prestigious international indie rock festival that was headlined by Pixies, Teenage Fan Club and Breeders before being cancelled. The band has released a single, an ep, a video shot in New York, and toured Spain and Brazil to support their independent releases.
In 2006, its members were busy with their other musical projects - Caio Marques and Cassim released their solo albums and JC Branco recorded and played with Wandula, while Guto Gevaerd and Andre Scheinkmann left the band to form Constanza and Folk Trio.
In 2007 Denis Nunes was recruited to play Bass and brought along all his experience as arranger and session musician. Bad Folks started recording its first album - IMPOSSIBLE - in September 2007. The result has already been described as a great surprise for 2008, when it will be available for free download.

Bad Folks é uma banda formada em Curitiba, em 2002. Seu som tem pitadas de tudo o que há de melhor no rock independente mundial, no punk folk e ainda traz algumas invencionices muito legais. Nos últimos anos, esses sujeitos vêm criando a reputação de ser um dos melhores shows da cena independente brasileira. Depois de lançar um single, um EP, um clipe rodado em Nova Iorque e de ter tocado na Europa e em algumas cidades brasileiras, a banda volta em 2008 com um disco que já está sendo considerado uma das grandes surpresas do ano: IMPOSSIBLE. Lançado em Março pelo selo Discos Voadores através de um projeto da Fundação Cultural de Curitiba, ele vem com ótimas canções, e poderá ser baixado gratuitamente aqui no Myspace a partir de 9 de Maio.
O Discos Voadores Studios foi fundado em 1999 pelo jornalista e ex-baixista da banda pós punk Ídolos de Matinée, Fernando Tupan. Em 2002, o multinstrumentista e produtor Marcus Coelio Gusso começou a trabalhar para o selo/estúdio. A dupla já gravou e produziu bandas como Catalépticos, Hillbilly Rawhide, Maremotos, Pleiade, Bad Folks, Os Kompressores, Gruvox, OAEOZ, V8, Sick Sick Sinners, Terminal Guadalupe, entre outras.
Em 2007, Fernando Tupan teve um projeto de Lei de Incentivo pela Fundação Cultural de Curitiba aprovado para a realização de 12 Cds, com as bandas independentes mais representativas do cenário curitibano. O disco"Impossible", dos Bad Folks, faz parte dessa fornada de lançamentos.
