    Help Del Rio (Bad Genes Crew Member and Co-Founder) put out his first solo album! thank you all for the support over the years!.... .......... A collaboration of emcees and musicians dedicated to bringing an eclectic mix of musical taste and ethnic backgrounds to the hip-hop community. The group fuses their collective influences, such as The Pharcyde, Quannum Spectrum, A Tribe Called Quest and the Sugar Hill Gang, to break new ground in the contemporary music scene, while maintaining the sensibility of hip-hop basics. Bad Genes consists of two emcees, a DJ, and a bassist/MPC wizard. Alias Antithesis (Emcee) was born and raised in Los Angeles with a passion and love for the music like no other. He integrates a soulful and energetic blend of flow and showmanship into his subtle, yet insightful wordplay. Diamond Del Rio (Emcee/Producer) hails from the Great Northwest, where he developed his unique old-school style and boyish charm. Beginning as a DJ, Del Rio can produce club banging beats for DJ eMpTy, coming out of the San Fernando Valley, who adds fierce scratch techniques and vocal samples to the musical soup. He keeps the cuts fresh and sharp, instilling artistic elements from early punk and hip-hop influences. B Maul (Bass/Live MPC/Producer) is a musical mastermind whose rhythmic and infectious grooves give every saucy beat life and harmonious form. Live or in the studio, playing it hard or smooth, Bad Genes is a fiery concoction of lyric peddlers, heavy rhythm merchants, and hip-hop cognoscenti. Ripping through the Los Angeles hip-hop club scene, the Bad Genes crew has opened and blown up the stage for diverse acts such as, Flava Flav and Bubba Sparxx at The Key Club, Digital Underground (twice) at The House of Blues, Souls of Mischief at the Normandy Casino, and Scarub of the Living Legends at MusicPlusTV. Diamond Del Rio and DJ eMpTy have also performed with Natalia--an R&B singer produced by Del Rio--at the 1st Annual Increase the Love Festival with acts such as George Clinton, Mike Jones, T. Pain, Sugar Free and Warren G..... As well as packing the clubs, the crew has released a music video for the single Knockin', directed by Joshua Forbes, which in the first week of its airing on MusicPlusTV.com made it to number 1 on their request show 10 Deep. Spreading the word even further out, Bad Genes is currently being played on PulseNow.com, an internet radio station, where their second single Round for Round was picked as one of the weeks top five Hot Trax and is now on regular rotation along with the self reflective hit Whats the Purpose?, and now playing; 5 Brothers and the hit single Westside, on the UK Satellite Radio station SKY 905.

    It is with great pleasure to announce the release of my new acoustic album "This Is Home" which is now in selected digital and itunes stores in Belgium, Germany, UK, Canada, USA and Mexico. The main themes of "This Is Home" is of love found, love lost, past and pressent relationships. Have been said that there are a few songs that are reminiscent of my childhood which I hope my boys will be able to see through my eyes.
     What makes this album different from it's predecessors is that my guitar and voice were recorded simultaneously and by doing so this enabled us to keep the recordings spontaneous and intimate. Here is the first videoclip from the album. I hope you'll enjoy it and please do share it.

    Marvin Anthony Burnett aka Sledgy

    The native-born Jamaican Marvin Anthony Burnett aka Sledgy was born in St. James at September, 27th in 1973. At the age of sixteen he came with his brother to Germany to stay with his mother and live a better life. Shortly afterwards young Anthony got down with rapping. To do music brings a lot of joy to him. Music is a great pleasure for Sledgy; he feels committed to make music. It helped him through his hard time after his entry into Germany which was totally foreign to him at that time. After he had rapped a long time for himself to take his mind off his worries, Burnett signed a contract with the label Power Jam Records. With conclusion of the treaty his music career begins.

    Under the name of Marvin Burnett he performs onstage (YOU) two times and at Funworld, Bodensee. Furthermore his music appeared on Radio Köln and Radio 7. For two years he has been under contract to Power Jam Records which is known as GUMAK Media e.K. today.

    The Jamaican Burnett is also charitable. He gave many benefit performances, among others at Kölner Zoo, in a retirement home and not least at town hall in Cologne- Kalk.

    Since recently, he can consider himself an Deejay. With his music, Sledgy wants to motivate people.
