I am counting the days
that I never have before.
Roots rockers the Badlees traced their origins to the late '80s, when guitarists Bret Alexander and Jeff Feltenberger joined forces with drummer Ron Simasek to form Bad Lee White in the group's hometown of Selinsgrove, PA. With the subsequent additions of frontman Pete Palladino and bassist Paul Smith, the group adopted the nickname given them by their expanding local fanbase, and as the Badlees, issued their debut EP It Ain't for You on their own Rite-Off label in 1990. After a pair of full-length efforts, Diamonds in the Coal and The Unfortunate Result of Spare Time, the group played a series of dates at the 1994 Qingdao Beer Festival in mainland China, the only Western act invited to appear at the event; with 1995's River Songs, the Badlees signed to A&M, but their follow-up, Up There Down Here, was trapped in corporate limbo for over a year, finally appearing in mid-1999 on their new label, Ark 21. A live album, 50:45live, was released the next year

Take in the breath taking signs of spring as you journey up through the hills of 120 to Renovo. Join us on May 2nd, 3rd and 4th for The Greater Renovo Heritage Park Celebration. Starting at 6pm on Friday we kick of the event with Kel Lomison and a round and square dance at the Recreation Center in Renovo, or stop in at Darleen's Dinner on Erie avenue next to the park to hear some good old fashion bluegrass and folk music played by the Blue Daniel James Band from Gettysburg, PA.
On Saturday we have many events going on, such as seminars from Bruce Teeple on the great Prince Farington and his bootlegger legacy. Bruce will also talk about the underground railroad and how it had it's affect on the area. Mr. Leonard Parucha will talk about the CCC camps during the great depresion. There will be photos of now and then of Renovo and the surronding towns as well. There will be yard sales, farmers market produce, Sheshequin Buckskinners encampment of the pre 1800's, demonstrations on tomahawk throwing, basket weaving, chainsaw carving as well as a huge list of artist playing from all over PA, such as Jim Colbert from Belefonte, Steve Horn from New Oxford, Joe Tokay and Adiel from Williamsport, The Fatman Band from State College, Rob Bomboy from Middletown, Stephen Craft from Beach Creek, Brent Malin from Pittsburgh, Phil Roher from Mount Joy, Hugh Ross from Montoursville, Collin Jones from State College and Stephen Bannon from Fairless Hill and Van Wagner from Tremont, PA.
