Badman Recording Co. is an independent label and production company located in Portland, Oregon. Badman is home to CD/LP releases from My Morning Jacket, Hayden, Mark Kozelek (Sun Kil Moon), the innocence mission and many other stand-out artists. Badman has also released a charitable compilation series called Shanti Project Collection that features new and rare tracks from remarkable indie artists including Sigur Ros, Low, Arab Strap, Rebecca Gates and The Black Heart Procession. The series contributes to Shanti (HIV/AIDS assistance foundation) of San Francisco.
Dylan Magierek heads up the label, and records many of Badman's releases (as well as other artists) and has recorded musicians such as Erlend Oye (King’s Of Convenience), Mark Kozelek, The Mother Hips, Laura Gibson, Thao Nguyen with Portland Cello Project, Norfolk & Western, Weinland and Call and Response.
Jemez Mountain (pronounced "hey-mez") is our mostly instrumental label with music from Lanterna and the innocence mission's Don Peris as first releases.
