I am complicated. I've never felt comfortable trying to detail my inner being while also keeping it short enough to disgest. I often find that others also fail in this respect. All I'm saying is this - don't expect too much. If you have a question, I would be happy to answer it. If you'd like me to expand upon my beliefs, defend them or otherwise converse with you on any of these, or any topics at all, feel free to send me a message. I may update or change this from time to time. Maybe.
I am a student. I'm a college sophomore working toward a Bachelors in Biology, specifically sociobiology/ethology. That is, the study of animal behavior and the evolutionary advantages of different behaviors. I currently attend a local community college and plan on transferring to the Evergreen State College upon completion of my Associates degree.
The scientist does not study nature because it is useful; he studies it because he delights in it, and he delights in it because it is beautiful. If nature were not beautiful, it would not be worth knowing, and if nature were not worth knowing, life would not be worth living. - Jules Henri Poincaré
I am a feminist. This is the one I feel least obligated to defend. It should be sufficient to say there are many reasons why feminism is not, and will never be obsolete.
I listen to feminists and all these radical gals - most of them are failures. They've blown it. Some of them have been married, but they married some Casper Milquetoast who asked permission to go to the bathroom. These women just need a man in the house. That's all they need. Most of the feminists need a man to tell them what time of day it is and to lead them home. And they blew it and they're mad at all men. Feminists hate men. They're sexist. They hate men - that's their problem. - Reverend Jerry Falwell
I am a communist. In theory anyway. More realistically, I'm a Socialist Democrat. I find it interesting that in all of our visions of a utopian society, all is shared and held in common by a people dedicated to doing what is best for all.
They talk about the failure of socialism but where is the success of capitalism in Africa, Asia and Latin America?
- Fidel Castro
I am an atheist. To be more precise, I am an atheistic Buddhist and a Unitarian Universalist. I am an atheist because, try as I might, I have never been able to believe in a deity. It is not a choice I have made, but an understanding of myself and the limits of our knowledge. Unitarian Universalism is a religion lacking any dogma or a creed, wherein it is believed that spiritual truths are found in any and all religions and that all should be free to find their own path. The path I try my best to follow is the 'middle way' spoken of by the Buddha. The aspect of Buddhism most appealing to me is the emphasis placed on personal responsibility and self-salvation.
Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. - Buddha
If people are good only because they fear punishment and hope for reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed. - Einstein
I am a vegetarian. This should come as no surprise as I am a Buddhist. Besides the fact that I love all creatures and want absolutely no part in their slaughter, butchering and consumption, eating meat contributes to many serious problems. Disease, cruel factory farming practices, pollution of both the air and land, and world hunger, for it takes 16 pounds of grain to produce just 1 pound of edible flesh.
The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men. - Leonardo da Vinci
Animals are my friends... and I don't eat my friends. - George Bernard Shaw
I am ever-changing. I am not the same person from year to year. Every experience I have, every new piece of information I log away in my mind, every person I meet affects me and shapes my views. My worldview is constantly expanding and I find no greater joy in life than that of revelation and understanding.
To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly. - Henri Bergson
I'm very particular about my friends. Even on myspace. I love free-thinkers and people with a hunger for knowledge. I enjoy people who share my interests, obviously. I have a very hard time maintaining respect for and, consequently, friendships with, people who disagree strongly with my political and ideological viewpoints. If you are a hard-headed, market-worshiping, Republican type - we will never get along. If you are a real liberal, chill, open-minded person who enjoys philosophical/political discussion, nature, good music etc, I would enjoy your company. I've taken the effort to put together a short list of different types of people, some of which I like, and others I can't stand. Find out where you fit in and proceed from there.
YAY: Liberals, Activists, Scholars, Musicians, Artists, Students of Philosophy, History, Literature or Science, Buddhists, Animal Lovers, Fellow Commies & Socialists, Atheists & other Free Thinkers, Environmentalists & Conservationists, Gays, Vegans & Vegetarians, Writers, Anyone with an interesting story or idea.
NAY: Religious Fundamentalists, Hunters & Trappers, "Traditionalists", People who use the terms 'Darwinist, liberal media and/or intelligent design', Hillbillies, Creationists, Racists, Misogynists & Chauvinists, Straight-Edge kids, People who don't appreciate and/or accept science, Pro-lifers, Homophobes, All other ignorant dickwads.
I wanted to add some music I like in case anyone is interested in the same kind of stuff. I listen to quite a few different styles of music so I by no means expect everyone to like some of the obscure songs I come across. I love music though and one thing I love almost as much is sharing the music I love with other people and, hopefully, giving them a chance to love it as well. Sounds corny, but what can I say?
If you're musically like-minded and you think you have something I'd be interested in, Drop me a line. I am always in desperate need of new music. I will thank you endlessly if you introduce me to something new and exciting, and I'll try my best to return the favor. <3

Well im technically not in Spkane, its like 80 miles north of spokane, prettty close to the caanadian border. Little town call Colville. I was thinking about going to rehab, Brittany has to go to treatment she is in jail right now waiting on a bed date I havent talked to her in almost 2 weeks im starting to get pretty lonely here but i know everything will be ok here soon. Another month or so down the road and hopefully well be reunited again. I was kind of thinking of tryin to become a drug coundelour or a public speaker of sorts to talk to kids about drugs and the downfalls to most of them "id prolly say all, but i know pot aint that bad at all" Trying to find work around here is a bitch, little ass town so not a whole lot fo employment opportunity. I miss raymond alot, sad to say im getting homesick like a mofo. That and i miss my fiance immensly....Like i said though, shit will shape up here sooner than later hopefully. Im getting pretty heathy now, im able to take longer walks, and drive just fine. I lost alot of leg strength just sitting in a hospital bed for two weeks nearly. I get tired easy walking around too much, jogging or anything real strenuous is completly out of the question for right now. I lose 35 lbs in the hospital, mostly in muscle so im hopeing to start gaining some of that back here real soon. Every day i progress more and more though, so here before too long ill be regular ol homan again...but sober lol. Are you living back in raymond these days or what? where do you reside? Hit me back when you can...
thank you so much for the kind words on ym page, you were prolly the only person who said anything that a first grader coulnd't just make up, not that that isnt bad or good..but it was very creative and i appreciate it, keep in touch
your profile says: "PROchoice, and friend to all life forms." I see a conflict there, you don't? this doesn't have to be an untouchable issue. you are big enough to change certain things that upon examination really aren't you. ty. phoo
Whoa! that class doesn't sound too easy. I tried to take an anthropology class online and it didn't go too well so I dropped it, but it probably would have been different if it were an on campus class.
Well thank you for the thoughtful remark. I also wish you luck on your final. Mine was an environmental science 100 final so it wasn't shit. What class is it that you are being tested on today?
haha. I am the same way actually, but for real, you are like, my spiritual counterpart i can already tell..... I use aim every once in a while but i usually use my phone to keep in contact. Message me if you want it.
