Dustin's Interests
|
| General | playing/listening to music, among other things..... | | Music | BAD MOJO REVIVAL SESSIONS:
I finally managed to convert these from the dvd of Atlanta Institute of Music's Graduating Class 2006-Spring, so now ive got some new music to share. These are my two songs from the graduation concert. .
The first song is newer, written about a 2 years ago."To Perpetually Cope" is supposed to represent the rapid transition through mental and emotional malaise, feeling like it will never resolve, to being in state of delusional invulnerability and bravado, and the pressure to balance between the two.It is played on a Danelectro "Hodad", and the effects section is a combination of a Crybaby Wah, and a Rocktron short delay. This will be on a second album, one day, when i get around to it.Enjoy!
The second one is an oldie, off the first "album" (demo would be more appropriate) ,some of you might recognize it."From Tear Filled Shores" is a song written in memory of a dear friend no longer with us, Christopher Riggozzi. It's played on a Dean "Performer 5-string". Funny footnote to that performance is that i accidentally had the wah pedal on and didnt realize it till i was setting it up for the next song, so thats why its a little trebbly, but i like the sound. The song starts after about 45 -60 seconds of intermission music
I've recently started playing with a new band, Defaux , feat. Matt Daniels, Logan Daniels, and Nate Dawg. look for a shows this year in the Atlanta area, check out our website www.myspace.com/defauxmusic
we are also within a few months of having a finished demo so 4 of our songs will be available online and free at shows!
keep posted to the website for more pics of the band and news. | | Movies | Theres ALOT of movies i could put in here. I don't really want to type all that much though, heres some of the crucial ones:
A Clockwork Orange, Crash, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Star Wars Episodes: 3-6 (yes, i do mean the original trilogy as well as the last of the new trilogy, yes, i am a nerd), Blame It On The Fish, Grandma's Boy, Ten Years of Fucking Up, The Shawshank Redemption, Clerks, Any Wes Anderson flick, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Half Baked, American Beauty, Glory Days, Monty Python's Trilogy, The Shining, Grosse Point Blank, The Devils Rejects, The X-Men Trilogy (hey, i warned you earlier) Caddyshack, Full Metal Jacket, M*A*S*H, Boondock Saints, Does Humor Belong In Music?, Borat:Cultural Learnings to Help Make Benifit Great Nation of Kazhakstan, Wrapped Around Chicago, Eyes Wide Open, , just to give a little cross-section | | Television | Though the T.V. is indeed evil and rots your brain, i'm hopelessly addicted.
Weeds is the best show ever, and [adult swim] is the best thing on cable. But i also enjoy Scrubs, The Daily Show/Colbert Report, Myth Busters, Planet Earth, Blue Planet, Rescue Me, Simpsons,The Boondocks, A Haunting, That 70's Show, The Office (both the british and american versions are fuckin' great, i prefer american Pam though),It's Always Sunny In Philedelphia, Law and Order, particularly SVU, Monk, King Of The Hill, The Sarah Silverman Program, Mr. Show, Kids In The Hall, Jeoparody, and, of course, South Park | | Books | I've read more Kurt Vonnegut Jr. than anything else, but then again he's published more than alot of authors too. He's somewhere in the 1st or 2nd favorite area. Hunter S. Thompson, Chuck Palahniuk, George Orwell, Thomas Harris (The Hannibal Lecter Trilogy), Douglas Adams, Glenn Duncan - "I, Lucifer" , Dan Brown (The Robert Langford series, and in my opinion, Angels And Demons was way better than Da Vinci Code)
And though i've only read two of his books, Noam Chomsky is definately the author that has had the most impact on me. | | Heroes | Never seen it, i'm not really big on major network television. The shows are usually terrible, except for the occasional Seinfeld or Everybody Loves Raymond. Ali Larter is pretty hot though. |
