OK, now's the time to set some guidelines. Several Desperate Hours Podcasts have been posted to GaragePunk.com. Pleaseohpleaseohplease give it a listen before asking to be my friend. You can also take a peek at my musical influences to see if it jives with your art. I'm not the least bit interested in getting thousands of friends, just broadening my base within the genres of music that I'm into which is primarily garage punk, early 60's pop, 50's weirdness, and Blues-based rock. If you had any chance to listen or peruse playlists of my old show, Coffee 'n' Smokes, you'll get what I'm trying to achieve with The Desperate Hour. What I do when putting out my own friend requests is to see if I or my radio colleagues worked with that label, that radio station, or that artist or would I honestly support them if they asked me to be their friend if I haven't worked with them.
For those who aren't in bands, I'd rather have regular people I know face to face or those who regularly download and listen to the podcast and have become fans of The Desperate Hour and of GaragePunk.com. I mean, sexy photos are nice and all but at 50 I've seen lotsa wimmens-some of 'em naked even. I hate to sound like a dick, but it has to be this way.
Love,
The Management
Anyway, now that the guidelines have been set I can tell you that most people can't or won't read so fuck it, let me tell you a little about me... I was and occasionally continue to be a radio DJ and I had done a bit of promotion, radio service, advance publicity and booking off & on going all the way back to the early 80's and I no longer do promo or hold a regular radio shift and my blood pressure has gone down considerably as a result. I only have the hankering to get back into the promotion end of it when I see what some fuckin' hacks call promotion. The Desperate Hour Podcast and the occasional gig hosting On The Town at WMFO should take care of any regrets I have about giving up a regular shift in radio.

All right, good stuff all around here. The Desperate Hour is currently one of my favorite GP podcasts, I listen to each show as soon as it is posted, usually more than once. The music election is always awesome, and Alex, you seem like a regular guy who wold be fun to have a beer with. That is a bad way to pick the President, but just fine for situations like this... R-O-C-K on!
