Bad Town Blues were formed at the start of the millennium and made their debut performing at the 2000 Great British Blues Festival.
Since then they have worked all over the country on the club and festival circuit playing original blues and sharing the stage with acts as diverse as “The Blockheads”, “Dr Feelgood” and “Otis Grand”.
The Bands debut, all original, album “Down in the Alley” was in the Chicago blues vein and their second album “Oblivion Road” is a very broad ranged contemporary blues album, once again all original.
Both albums led to extensive magazine articles, radio interviews and airplay from Britain, America, Australia and mainland Europe.
Two intrumental tracks won “Original Blues Composition” and “Prime Time” awards in 2005.
Band members have played with many bands, over the years, such as the Tom Robinson Band, the Worrying Kynde (60’s 100 club residents) and the Gerry McAvoy band, to name a few.
A while back Giles King (Willie and the Poor Boys) replaced Adam Norton on harp, following Adam Norton’s decision to emigrate to Australia.
Now Giles has decided it’s time for a change and we wish him success.
So Bad Town Blues will be a four piece from now on, continuing in the style which we have evolved over the last 10 years.
Hi Ray, thanks for the positive vibes and the recording session this week. I would, however, refute the suggestion that I frequent graveyards at midnight dressed in silk pyjamas, well not lately anyway!
