Bag Full of Blues came about in March 2003 as a collaboration of Alan "Blindboy" Qualtieri and Billy Parsons, two south shore guitarist who met up on the jam circuit and found a immediate chemistry. Because Alan and Billy both brought diverse styles, used different bass players and drummers and never knew who might show up to sit it the name seemed to say it all. Later in 2003 Billy left to work on other projects. Alan continued and grew into the trio working regularly with Jay Henshall on bass and Rich Milne on drums. The band still deserves it's name as Jay from time to time take a turn on guitar and vocals and friends are always showing up and sitting in bring diverse sounds and styles.
If you're expecting to hear the same old over rehearsed boring material when you see these guys, forget it! It is amazing how tight they sound considering they rarely rehearse together. It even gives them a edge keeping their sound spontaneous and in the moment. It's amazing to watch them pull off songs that they may never have played before!
