Following from the great success of the canun seminar in the island of Simi and the acceptance of an invitation from the Mayor of Kalymnos, the 2º canun seminar is now due in a few days.
Between August 23-30 in the beautiful island of Kalymnos, Manolis Karpathios will be teaching the modern techniques of the canun to musicians who have gathered together for the event from all parts of Greece. Co-organiser of this seminar is Giannis Megaloudis’s Simi Cultural Institute, providing the invaluable technical knowledge and experience of the first seminar.
The increasing demand for participation in such events illustrates the ascendant course of the canun as a musical instrument that shows people’s thirst for original musical expressions which are relevant to the ancient greek and Byzantine music.
Price: 140€, including teaching and accommodation.
