"Heartistry" Turtle's brand-spanking new full-length solo LP
The latest and greatest installment from the LC Fam is "Heartistry", Turtle's solo release. Fully mixed and mastered, this record truly represents the here and now. The concept-laden, lyrically-driven tracks run the gamut of styles, emotions, imagery, and wordplay. It is presented to the world with a literal heart in the hands. "Heartistry" includes collaborations from some of LA underground's finest, including: Johanna Phraze, Equalknox of Rezawrekting tha Dead, Magz and Laloe of the HumanBeings, Odder of Lost Animals, Bakus (LC), and Nathan Nice.
There ain't no fresh air in the ciudad! The EP is four mixed and mastered tracks of straight underground, independent, concept-driven hip hop music. The EP features contributions from NATHAN NICE, DJ TROMA, JOHANNA PHRAZE and production from SOLPOWA, NYKWILL (LOST ANIMALS/LOST N LOADED), and Turtle himself! The EP is free and available. You can write to us and we'll get one out to you. Or if you come out to any show and we'll be handing them out. Either way lend an ear.

The new full-length album, Left@Bumps is now available. It's 15 professionally mixed and mastered tracks with full-color artwork. Guest appearances include DJ Troma, HOE1FAT, and Scott Shiflett (Viva Death/Face to Face). It's been a long time and we know that, so it was very important to us to put out a professional release. No printed at home, cd-r, fucked up level shit here... this album is as pro as we could muster.
(Thanks to all the true friends for the time, love, passion, kick downs, discounts, handouts, bong loads, and other helping hands... we love ya'll! Thanks for believing in us!!!)
"so calLED REALITIES" was our 2nd album. Released in 2004 it represented a step-up in growth for us both musically and lyrically. It contains 14 gritty tracks picked straight from the orange haze backdrop of NE LOS. Guest Appearances by Nameless (Main Page) and Lorilye.
"Progress Function was our 1st release. The 12 track LP really stands for where we came from and where we were going. Released in January 2003, Progress Function was the culmination of an unlikely collaboration between three very different personalities unified in the love and appreciation of hip hop. It truly represents our journey from knuckleheads to entrepreneurs.

Nykwill of the Lost Animals Crew's "Now You Know What's Ill Comp." featuring Turtle, Avid, Bakus and many more!
I'm Bakus, an emcee. My name is Brandon. That's how I usually introduce myself. I'm a man with enough emotional baggage and time to write. I've started producing, and I like to sample old jazz and blues records to make beats that if I ever get big will never be able to play.
I was born in the late 70's and am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. I've lived all over LA, from the valley to Koreatown, from Pasadena to Palms, but now I'm living in Sunland/Tujunga in the 818. Both LA and New Orleans heavily influence my sound... from the improvisational attitude of Dixieland jazz, and emotional discord of rural blues, to the rumbling trunks of East Los Angeles, and the spit-in-your-face DIY ethics of old Hollywood punk rock.
You can catch me on stage usually with the crew, Learning Curve (www.myspace.com/learningcurve). I'm also (in no particular order) an educator, college graduate, author, poet, husband, and father.
