ITA: Il metal estremo pu essere grosso modo suddiviso in due campi: quello delle band sprovviste di senso dell'umorismo, e quello delle band che ne sono dotate ampiamente. Quelle del primo campo, tra cui ad esempio gli yankee newyorkesi Mortician, ai quali sovente siamo paragonati, sono spesso insopportabili. I Balatonizer, invece, appartengono al secondo campo. Pesantemente influenzata dal grindcore, dal death metal e dalla buona vecchia musica industriale, per tacere della loro viscerale passione per la madrepatria Sicilia la musica dei Balatonizer, un muro di riff, campionamenti da film sulla mafia e ritmi elettronici violentissimi, può non essere per tutti, ma piacer di sicuro a quelli che vanno fuori di testa per la violenza chirurgica. Il gruppo viene fondato nel 1997 da Marco Failla (chitarre), Mario Musumeci (voce) e Rodan Di Maria (basso), assieme agli amici di vecchia data Massimo e Giovanni alla batteria e alla seconda voce. Una demo, abbastanza in stile E.N.T./Napalm, viene registrata allinizio del 1999. In seguito, col cambio della forma musicale in direzione di un corrosivo death-grind, definito dai pi affezionati come dick music, la band perde l'apporto di Giovanni e Massimo; pertanto, dopo aver reclutato una drum-macine Roland ed un sequencer economico, nell'estate del 2002 il trio registra, dopo un lungo periodo di prove, del nuovo materiale, e suona nel frattempo alcuni concerti con buone band quali Melt Banana e Cripple Bastards. I nuovi pezzi, registrati ai Circle of Power studio di Claudio Di Prima, batterista dei Thy Majestie, evidenzia la devastante rifferia di Failla grazie ad una cassa e ad un rullante massacranti, mentre il basso distorto fornisce un'autentica iniezione di violenza. Sopra tutto la voce gutturale, regressiva e sub-animale di Musumeci sembra suggerirci storie malate sulla violenza ed il nulla di Palermo. La band ottiene riscontri non soltanto tra i fan del metal estremo, ma anche tra gli appassionati di punk, hardcore, crust, metal classico, nonostante un immagine praticamente inesistente, e continua a fornire convincenti prove live. Nell'estate 2004, finalmente uscito, per la Devil Doll Records (Long Beach, CA, USA) di John Goldberg il primo album ufficiale: Occlused In Ottusity già disponibile dal 16 luglio. Heavily influenced by grind core, death metal and good ol industrial music, not to say about their passion for homeland Sicily, Balatonizer music, a barrage of riffs, mafia-movie samples and fastnfuriousngrinding electronic drums, may not be for everyone, but surely for insane maniacs of surgery-like violence. The band was formed in 1998 by Marco Failla (guitars), Mario Musumeci (vocals) and Rodan Di Maria (bass), together with long-term friends Massimo and Giovanni on drums and second vocals. A demo, pretty in E.N.T./Napalm style, was released in early 1999. Changing their musical features to a corrosive death-grind, appealed by folks as dick Music, the band loses the help of Giovanni e Massimo; so, recruiting a Roland drum-machine and a cheap sequencer, the trio recorded new material in summer 2002, after a long rehearsal time, and a few gigs with good bands such as Melt Banana and Cripple Bastards. The new material, recorded with the help of Thy Majesties drummer Claudio Di Prima, sublimates Faillas devastant riff-o-rama under a grinding shower of drumnsnare, while the roaring bass of Di Maria provides a real turbo injection. Upon all the guttural, regressive and sub-animal vocals of Musumeci tell us sick stories about the nothingness and the violence of Palermo. The band retains a loyal following, not only among extreme metal fanatics, but also in the punk/hardcore/crust and class metal communities, despite the almost absent imagery, and remains a very heavy live proposition. Now, in summer 2004, the band is finally out, after a deal with John Goldberg and Devil Doll Records (Long Beach, CA, USA), with the first uncompromising album Occlused In Ottusityout yet since July, the 16th. ..This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5
