Please join us for The Rocky Horror Picture Show - A Time Warp Party
This party will be held “Over at the Frankenstein Place” (aka The Pavilion) in the Balboa Village, just a block from the legendary Balboa Theater where this outrageous 1975 cult film played as an evergreen until the Theater’s closing in 1992. Screenings of the film in Balboa have since become the thing of local legend - and of a yearning nostalgia for an era when such films shocked as much as they entertained. Funds raised by this event will support the re-opening of the beloved Balboa Theater as a multi-use performing arts and film center.
In the spirit of the film and its fabled history, The Rocky Horror Picture Show - A Time Warp Party,
will reflect the adventurous nature of the film as well as the new spirit of our times. The film will be shown with newly enhanced picture and sound. Party guests will dine on the haute cuisine of the movie house, including an open bar for our sponsoring guests. And – true to the spirit of the film – each sponsoring guest will receive a packet of movie props and paraphernalia that will, quite literally, make them active participants in this before-its-time example of “interactive” media. Your donation of $150 gets you in the party and includes your drinks for the evening.
A live game show featuring members of the Rocky Horror Picture Show cast Sins o' the Flesh... and possibly, YOU!
We asked 100 Rocky Horror audience members several risque questions. Over three rounds of gameplay, four teams will compete to guess the most popular responses. Each team will be made up of four Sinners and one audience member. When you arrive, you'll get a raffle ticket for a chance to play.
Plus, you can buy as many more raffle tickets you want for only $1 each!
WHEN: Friday, January 9th at 10pm.
WHERE: Ground Zero Coffee House, USC Campus - 615 Child's Way, Los Angeles, CA 90089.
PARKING: Street parking is available in the surrounding area.
COST: $5 for general admission (folding chair seats), $8 for couches/loveseats/puffy chairs in the first few rows.
