Baldydrawnboy is just me, Noel Jones. If I've managed to get it working, you'll be hearing tracks from White Lightning, Static, Barrelhouse Brothers and The Fourth Wall. White Lightning were a band from the melodic end of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and the members here are myself on vocals and lyrics, Simon Pengilly on guitar, Richard Max Goddard on bass and Jeff Ward on drums and sundry other musical accoutrements. Original bassist was Gerald Goff, he was on our one single. Static had a few lineups but was originally formed by bassist Pete Buckler, brother of Rick from The Jam. Here they are myself on vocals, lyrics and harmony guitar licks, Paddy Chambers on guitar, Andy Rose on bass and Kieran McCleary on drums. Other lineups followed but this was the one that did the most work. The Fourth Wall was myself on vocals, bass and lyrics, Rick Buckler on drums and programming and Brian Viner on guitars. Barrelhouse Brothers was a thing that Jeff from White Lightning and I did for fun (a Blues project) that gradually gathered momentum and ended up including ex-members of Jimi Hendrix Experience, Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, Van der Graaf Generator, Mountain, Mungo Jerry and a whole bunch more. Phew Wow. Blue Fuses is the band I'm involved with full time and you can see them on the website mentioned here. I do lead vocals and bass, Doug Lipinski (Douglip) does lead guitar and some vocals, Pete Brock rhythm and lead guitar and some vocals and Will Carroll (Just Will) on drums. We play Classic Rock (AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Motorhead etc...) and we have a lot of fun doing it too, I might add. Check out a gig if you can. Meantime, if I've managed to make this work, please take a look at the Godlike Amon Duul 2 playing "Between the Eyes", it should be just under this bit of typing. Splosh.
Influences
Lotsa, though I'm really not sure what comes out when I open my throat or flex my fingers. I love Krautrock so maybe a little influence of Holger Czukay is evident in the funkier excursions, but I dare say that Herr Czukay would probably claim never ever to have been influenced by Funk. For bass, people like Geddy Lee (Rush), Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy), Chris Squire (Yes) and Lester Claypool (Primus) must be mentioned. For guitar, Dave Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and many too numerous to mention. Vocals, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Peter Hammill, Jon Anderson, Noddy Holder and John Peel (his sonorous tones I often imitate when leaving telephone messages, God bless him), Drums, Keith Moon, Rat Scabies, Carl Palmer, Phil Collins, Chester Thompson and our own Will Carroll (Just Will to MySpace watchers), and other instrumentalists would be David Jackson (Van der Graaf Generator sax and flute), Jon Lord (Deep Purple), Keith Emerson (ELP) and Rick Wakeman (Yes) for keyboards and Jeff Ward for anything he can get a tune out of. The Man's an effing Legend. God bless the Cardiacs and the wonderful harmonic vocals of those fine gentlemen, System of a Down. Hopefully if I've got this right, there should be a film of the wondrous Cardiacs in rehearsal playing "Jibber and Twitch" just below this bit of typing. Jim, will you please go and put some clothes on?
Sounds Like
Bon Scott, Peter Gabriel and Phil Collins, so I’m told. One comment I heard many a year ago was"F***in’ ’ell, he just opened his mouth and Robert Plant fell out". I quite like that one. Oh, here’s a new one given to me after a gig at the Churchill Tavern in Ramsgate in March 2008; now it seems I sound like Burke Shelley and should do some Budgie tracks. Breadfan perhaps? Or maybe Zoom Club?
Baldy Drawn Boy is Noel Jones and vice versa. Oh, and I'm 50 years of age by the way, not 108 as it states on the thumbnail icon you'll find somewhere here. Noel is the Bassist and Lead Vocalist in Surrey based top fun Rock covers band Blue Fuses. He was once a member of White Lightning, an influential melodic rock band of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal genre, before that he was a member of Static from the same stable, a band originally formed by Pete Buckler, twin brother of Rick of The Jam. He's also recorded and gigged with Barrelhouse Brothers (featuring members of Status Quo, Van der Graaf Generator, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Mungo Jerry, Thin Lizzy, Mountain and others) and The Fourth Wall, featuring the talents of the aforementioned Rick Buckler of The Jam. Mention must be given to his support gigs for Dumpy's Rusty Nuts, Meat Loaf (PLEASE SEE SHOTS OF THIS GIG IN MY PICS), Pendragon, Twelfth Night and Marillion at the start of their career. Lots of gigs and beer over the years.
Noel John Gilbert Jones B.A. (Hons.) Kingston here, pleased to meet you. I live in Kingston on Thames, Surrey, England but was born in R.A.F. St. Athan, Glamorgan, South Wales on Christmas Day, 1957. I work for Waterstone's Kingston University Bookshop and have been there since the early 1990s. When questioned Who I'd like to meet on my previous MySpace page (the one without the music) I replied thus:- Anyone friendly out there, particularly ladies of the curvy variety. I've met plenty of people in my lifetime, most of whom have been perfectly splendid, but the odd ratbag creeps in every now and then I'm sad to say. Particularly the racist thug who broke my arm in 2006 after I objected to him using the N***** word when describing black people. Some people haven't got the brains of lice. One person I'd like to say Hello to would be my late Mother, as I'd be able to tell her about the University Degree I managed to earn after she left our world. "Hello up there, Ma".
I'm happy to say that my slideshow has reappeared, so I hope you're able to see the pictures I've put on there. Why not go to where the pictures are static and make a comment on one or two? Cheers all.

Very kind words, Noel. Thanks for listening. Tell anyone who might give a toss about the obscure London band with the stoppy-starty songs. If I can't afford HOVIS wholemeal (not Sainsbury's, not Co-Op, HOVIS) by this time next year, I'm quitting. So, please, get to spreading the word, and I'll get to spreading my cheeks.
