As distinctive and dynamic as the city it calls home, Ballet Austin (founded 1956) welcomes audiences near and far to participate in its vision for the democratization of dance.
"A company with big ambitions" originating work that is "absorbing" (The New York Times), the Ballet Austin Company as led by artistic director Stephen Mills is known for its "classically innovative" style.
As the largest dance academy affiliated with a professional company, Ballet Austin Academy is committed to providing the highest quality dance instruction to its annual enrollment of over 800 students.
As a non-profit volunteer organization, the Ballet Austin Guild is exists to support and promote the interests of Ballet Austin in greater Austin and surrounding communities through educational programs, fundraising, and special events.
Open to all ages and skill levels for one class or many, Ballet Austin's Butler Community School promotes recreational dance and life long fitness through classes that include Pilates, yoga, dance fitness, and open dance ranging from ballet to jazz and hula to hip hop.

March 28, 2008 – Gala Opening Night, chaired by Bobbi Topfer Our gala opening of the Long Center begins Friday, March 28 with a very special group performance from the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Lyric Opera and Ballet Austin in Michael & Susan Dell Hall. Hosted by Tommy Tune, this special performance will be presented under the leadership of nationally acclaimed director John Goberman. Other guests include Conspirare and Michael Amante, just to name a few.
March 29, 2008 – All Texas Music Tribute Concert Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, playing with Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel, with Rick Trevino and Flaco Jimenez — this all-Texan line-up is sure not to be missed. The All Texas Music Tribute Concert will salute and feature the musicians that define Texas music. A pre-show Texas-sized BBQ will precede this one-of-a-kind concert.
March 30, 2008 – Austin Music Memorial Dedication
The Long Center for the Performing Arts will be the host of the Austin Music Memorial unveiling of the inaugural class of inductees into the Austin Music Memorial. The ceremony and reception will honor those who have made it possible for Austin to become "The Live Music Capital of the World."
