Me llamo PATTI BALLINAS.
Naci en Mexico D.F. y creci en Escocia ya que mi padre es Mexicano y mi madre Escocesa.
Empecé a tocar la bateria desde los 8 años en Escosia y soy totalmente autodidacta aunque mi Padre me enseño los primeros ritmos basicos.
Formé un grupo con mis hermanas y nos trasladamos a Mallorca en 1984. Aqui empezé a trabajar proffesionalmente y es aqui donde he empezado mi carrera como baterista de sesion tambien.
Soy endorser de Baterias Yamaha desde hace 12 años. Soy tambien endorser de Platos Zildjian, baquetas Vic Firth y parches Evans.
He hecho varias demostraciones, clinics y conciertos en paises como España, Japon, Mexico, Portugal, Alemania, Italia, U.S.A. Inglaterra, Singapore, Indonsia, Taiwan, Russia, etc.
Pudiendo trabajar con maestros de la musica como Dave Weckl, John Robinson, Gerry Brown, Akira Jimbo, Sonny Emory, Rick Marrota, Antonio Sanchez, Tommy Aldridge, Ndugu Chancler, Richard Bona, Victor Wooten, Neil stubenhaus, Will Lee, Nathan East etc. He participado en Varios "Groove Nights y Groove all stars " de Yamaha en Mexico. En el año 2003 y en el 2008. Tambien hize una gira de clinics con John Robinson en el 2008 en varios ciudades de Mexico para Yamaha.
He hecho giras tocando con artistas como Buika y Chenoa en España, Y con Jeffrey Daniel (cantante/music de SHALAMAR) en Gran Bretaña.
He tocado en Ibiza y en Mallorca con Miko Weaver (ex-guitarista de Prince).
He hecho algunas sesiones en estudio para varios artistas, entre ellos con Buika y con Molly Duncan (de "The Average White Band")
Asi mismo sigo tocando en directo y colaborando en grabaciones de varios grupos.
He salido en varios reportajes de la revista " Todo Percusion" y he salido en portada de dicha revista tambien. Igualmente he salido varias veces en la revista "Bateria Total".
Actualmente Estoy en el libro " Sticks & Skins" con fotos y reportaje.
Influences
So many!!!! Too many to mention here....But they are embedded in my heart and soul forever.

PATTI BALLINAS, half Scottish and half Mexican, started to play drums at the age of 8 years. Together with her sisters CAROL & IVONNE she played many concerts in SCOTLAND and the band "Angels' Delight" appeared on scottish television. By the time Patti moved to MALLORCA (Spain) the band was working under the name "Aqua Vitae". In a few good years of concert experience Patti Ballinas worked with several musicians and bands in Mallorca and Madrid and became a well known drummer in Spain.
At the same time Patti formed a "Motown Show" singing with her sisters she also started her career as a session drummer and soon became a YAMAHA DRUMS Endorser.
Patti Ballinas is the first drummer from Spain representing Yamaha Drums worldwide!!
Along with AKIRA JIMBO and WOLFGANG HAFFNER Patti gave demonstrations for electronic and acoustic Yamaha drums in Spain.
And has given solo demos in PORTUGAL, GERMANY, ITALY, SPAIN and JAPAN.
In November 2003 Patti played at the "GROOVE NIGHT Concert" in MEXICO CITY. Along with the amazing "L.A. Groove Night Band" and the awesome drummers Rick Marotta, Ndgu Chancler, Gerry Brown, David Garibaldi, Antonio Sanchez, Dave Weckl, Russ Miller and John Robinson, Patti Ballinas played with the Groove Night Band directed by Neil Stubenhaus and played with the fanatastic WILL LEE on the bass. Patti also co-hosted the whole show with Rick Marotta.
Patti Ballinas is currently involved in recording sessions and live performances with various bands playing different styles of music. Jazz, Country, Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Soul and R&B. She is also still playing with "Soul Machine" a band she founded together with the bass player Elon Bivins.
She toured with the recording artist "Buika" two years ago.
And last summer was on tour all over SPAIN with the famous Spanish pop artist "Chenoa".
She also plays in different bands with the outstanding sax player Molly Duncan from the "Average White Band".
She was on tour with JEFFREY DANIEL (SHALAMAR) in the U.K.
From the 12th of April to the 3rd of May. 2007.
She also played in the Bicester Jazz Festival in LONDON on the 11th and 12th of August 2007 with "WOM".
She played in a Jazz festival in Rostov (RUSSIA) November 2007 with Andrei Quint, Victor Borilov and Sandra Russo.
She played recently with the Aweosme VICTOR WOOTEN & STEVE BAILEY at the Namm Show 2008 in L.A.
And played with the Amazing NATHAN EAST in the Asian Beat Competition in Taiwan as part of her YAMAHA DRUM CLINICS tour in ASIA in March 2008.
Patti played recently in April of 2008 in SIBERIA. On a tour with Andrei Quint, Sandra Russo and Jimmy Gallagher. In Novorsibirk, Krasnoyarsk and Irkursk. In KRASNOYARSK they played at the JAZZ FESTIVAL.
She also performed in July, August and September 2008 in MEXICO for the three outstanding "Yamaha Groove All Stars"events in GUADALAJARA, MONTEREY AND MEXICO CITY.
And co-hosted the shows again alongside Rick Marrotta.
