Chicago native, Oursin, and wandering nomad, TaLi RodrigueZ, first crossed paths 4 years ago thanks to a mutual collaboration with an un-named individual who was later found to bite battle lyrics from text hip-hop writers from various web forums. Despite this rocky beginning, these two hungry emcees continued to make songs together to the critical acclaim of at least 15 separate individuals at any given time.
As solo artists, both ran into their share of problems. First, Oursin dropped his first album, On Borrowed Time. In the beginning, all seemed well. After a week, however, it became apparent that the thirty-something people who said they were anticipating the albums release were not as concerned with actually following through and buying it. The album did go triple tin. Still, this was well below his stated goal of quadruple scrap-metal.
On the other side of the country, TaLi RodrigueZ could barely give away 100 copies of his first official release, The Collage of Contemplation EP, which featured songs recorded between the years of 2001 and 2004 that were produced by an extremely underrated genius of a producer, Grendel.
At the beginning of 2005, Oursin & TaLi decided that it was time to combine their efforts in the hope of trying to secure, at least, double stainless steel status. Thus, The SUPER GROUP, Ballin Ass Hombres, was conceived. The original plan was to finish a mixtape by summer 2005; however, it soon became clear that there was one thing these two renegades had in common, a predisposition to chronic procrastination. Fall and winter of 2005, and Spring of 2006 all passed before the dynamic duo finally ripped off their first track, fittingly titled, Ballin Ass Hombres. It was a haggard effort indeed, but it set the stage for the avalanche of tracks that was soon to come.
NOW, it is completely possible that they might actually finish this god-forsaken mixtape by the end up the summer! It is called The Ballin Ass Hombres Mixtape. Oursin & TaLi are The Ballin Ass Hombres!
Now, thanks to Myspace, we actually have a home base to work from. If you are a whore, a wannabe whore, or a male or female impersonating a whore, we will not accept your friend requests.
