Balthazar is an alternative pop band, with rock, electro and hiphop influences, formed at the end of 2004 in Kortrijk, Belgium. In their short career they’ve won almost every local talent competition, impressed a sold out Ancienne Belgique in the critically acclaimed national band contest: Humo’s Rock Rally 2006. Result: a lot of gigs (including festivals like Dour 2007, Dranouter 2008 & Marktrock 2008) and live performances on various national television shows. In the summer of 2007, they had their first single “This is a flirt” (only available on iTunes) which was a great succes, with a number 2 top position in “de afrekening”, the alternative hitlist from the belgian radiochannel Studio Brussel, and the most played song for two weeks. The second single was released in february 2008: “Bathroom lovin’: situations” (only available on iTunes).
After a busy year on stage, the band is currently starting with the plans to record their debut album.
We hebben de finale van de Rockrally van de Jukte (Geluwe) gehaald, hoera! Deze finale gaat door op 11 juli in de zaal van de Gaper (naast de Jukte), met Freddy de Vadder in het voorprogramma. We nemen het op tegen Impure ( http://www.myspace.com/impuremusicbe ) en 7 Inch Baby ( http://www.myspace.com/7inchbaby ). De winnaar wordt opnieuw gekozen via een publieksstemming, en krijgt een plaats op de affiche van de Nachten van de Jukte op 1 augustus!!
Voor ons is het dus opnieuw kwestie van zoveel mogelijk volk naar daar te krijgen om op ons te stemmen. Bij deze ben je uitgenodigd ons met al je vrienden te komen steunen. Zo help je ons naar het podium van de Nachten van de Jukte!
Tickets voor de hele avond (Freddy en de rockrally) kosten in vvk 3 euro.
