I'm a dance company based in the Baltimore area. I'm dedicated to presenting the creative work of Carol Hess and Doug Hamby, "two of the most exciting choreographers in Maryland." In July 2007 I made my Baltimore debut at The Creative Alliance at the Patterson. Carol and Doug were joined by puppetry director Colette Searls, known for her "wildly inventive staging", to put on a program of riveting works. We were sold out!
COMING UP JUNE 26 and JUNE 27 2009 at 7:30pm !!!! Carol is choreographing a new piece called LIQUID MEASURE for Becky Dyson and Franki Trout. Performance is at this event: AREA 405/CIRCUIT/ART/MUSIC/DANCE (405 East Oliver Street, Baltimore) So c'mon down...and bring a friend who is up for seeing new work by different kinds of artists - dancers, animators, filmmakers, sound and music makers. Buildings in this abandoned neighborhood are slowly being reclaimed by artists. Security/street patrol will be on hand. This space is amazing.
Natalie, Charlene, and Angel are dancing on the movie set of a video project we shot in the ruins of an old Baltimore factory in summer 2007.
Watch the above excerpts from "Square Breath" choreographed by Doug, to an interactive score by Ferd Maisel, performed by Ann, Elena, Lisa, Robin, Lindsay, and Natalie.
This is a 3 minute excerpt from "Persona" choreographed by Carol Hess to music by Kevin Bewersdorf, performed by Jen.
我想認識: People who crave dance. People who go to dance performances. People who want to see what happens when dancers collide with video surveillance equipment, feed movement to hand-held cameras, trigger explosions in sound, create virtual identities or find illicit uses for newspaper.
What people have been whispering about is TRUE! Unexplained phenomena...scientific anomalies… Squonk Opera will be responding to the cover-ups with ....ASTRO-RAMA!
Stand with us, and the truth will be revealed.

On behalf of The Collective Dance Company in Baltimore, I would like to invite Baltimore Dance Project to our annual Open Marley Night on Saturday, May 17th at 8:00pm at Experimental Movement Concepts in Baltimore. Open Marley Night is an evening of showing work or work in progress where feedback from the audience is facilitated and encouraged. The participating companies or choreographers bring a work to share and then invite questions or ideas from the audience. This is an informal performance and provides a networking opportunity for companies and choreographers in the Baltimore/DC region.
An informational sheet about Open Marley Night as well as the registration form can be found on our website: www. collective-dance. com. If you are interested in showing work, please return the registration form by April 25th. If you are interested in attending, the event is free and open to the public. There will be a wine and cheese reception following the performance. We hope you can attend.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. We would love to see your work.
