About me: This page is 100% dedicated to spotlighting the musical talent of the North Alabama area. There's a lot of great music out there but our local scene is a dead wasteland of apathy and banality. It's time we did something about it. If you are a musician or in a band, this is your opportunity to network, learn, and promote yourself. Take a few moments to send us an add request (check our guidelines below first) and send us any info about yourself or your band you want to promote.
This page and a companion web site is under construction so keep checking back for band photos, bios, CD reviews and possibly show listings. Feel free to send and contribute info, stories, photos and other material for inclusion.
Visit our evil twin MySpace page- Rock Immortals.
Who I'd like to meet: Any and all musicians in the Southeast area- particularly you Alabama rockers and metalheads. If you are in the area and want to be included in our network, PLEASE send an add request.
Friend Add Guidelines:
First and foremost this is a page for Alabama bands and music artists. Everyone is welcome on our friends list, but musicians from this area will be first on the list. The order of our friends list isn't determined by who we love best so don't be insulted at your placement. That said...
The sheer volume of idiots on our planet- in particular those infesting MySpace, have forced me to institute and enforce certain standards for who we are "friends" with. In the spirit of Rock N' Roll and Heavy Metal, we embrace creativity and freedom of expression. We hate censorship and politically correct paranoia. But doggone it, we have to draw the line about some things. MySpace is a very open online community. There are people of all ages here but for some reason most members either ignore that fact or just don't care and much of what they do here is inappropriate and just plain stupid. The anonimity of the internet has made jerks of vast numbers of people online. Just as I choose not to associate with annoying lowlifes in reality- I choose not to associate with them here. Funny and creative lowlifes are OK though.
Here's who we DO NOT want on our friends list: Attention whores, silly tarts with modeling aspirations (really, I am NOT interested in your stupid photos). It is well known that a huge percentage of the girls on MySpace- particularly the flirty-tarty kind are actually men who are either just trying to spam traffic to their unsavory web sites or getting some creepy kicks pretending to be hot chicks. We also hate "gangstas", spammers rednecks and friend collectors in general.
If your profile has excessive gratuitous drug references, your add will be refused. Engage in whatever chemical recreation you want, I don't care. I'm not going to judge. I'm also not going to be associated with it.
We are not here to hook up or cater to posers, fakers bimbos and himbos and their attitudes. Pay attention to who we are and what our site is about. Don't bother to request an add if you are a fan of country, polka, Ashlee Simpson or (shudder) Hip-Hop of any kind. We generally cut some slack for pop- but not much. PLEASE don't be surprised and insulted when we deny your add request for any or all of these reasons. We check the profile of each and every member who requests an add. If we refuse you, it doesn't mean you are being insulted or disrespected (unless you are Ashlee Simpson or Brittney Spears).

Hey. Were gonna be at the Highnote in Birmingham this sat. Ages 19 and up. Show starts at 9 pm. $10 to get in. Also playing, Trubador, and Blackhill Cemetery. COME GET WASTED W US!!!!!!
Checkin in on our good buddy, hope all is well. We have two shows coming up. April 25th and may 7th. Both good shows, but the may 7th is going to be a killer show! Hope to see you at one of them!
Thanks for the add! Killer page! This is a fantastic thing you're doing for the local music community. Too bad the bands are too apathetic and lazy to make anything of it. Sad, cuz some of them are really talented.
What's up S.M.I. Friends and Family, We are excited to have been chosen to advance in the Project Independent National Metal Showcase. Now, we need your help to continue. Beginning December 1st, a online voting competition on www. projectindependent. net will determine which bands will advance for an opportunity to become the Featured Artist for 2009. The Featured Artist receives a 60 day national tour, $5,000, CD manufacturing, custom merchandise from Rocky Mountain Hardcore, free gear and tech support, and more! These are all things that S.M.I. needs greatly. So, help us advance everyday in December. Tell everyone you know about this. Let's show the world what three crazy southern boys from the Mountains of Northwest Georgia can accomplish with a little help. This IS a popularity contest, and we are going to be facing off against a lot of really good bands from larger cities. So, we are at a disadvantage. But, with your help we can win.
Local Anniston rock band Chaotic Theory is in need of a singer. We are a very serious groove metal project in need of a vocalist who is versatile and creative. We bring together many styles and ideas and blend them into something that is our own. Our influences contain but are not limited to: Pantera, Alice in Chains, Five-Finger-Death Punch, Killswitch Engage, Tool, System of a Down, DevilDriver, Lamb of God, Dream Theatre, Garbage, Deftones, Porcupine Tree and Soundgarden. Our music consists of all originals at the moment. We are not against covers but we enjoy writing and playing our own music more than anything. We are very passionate about our music. We are a serious and dedicated drug free band. We are fully equipped and ready to hit the studio to produce our first demo and our first promo kit.
