HIP HOP UNDER THE BIG TOP
Calling all Alabama Hip Hop and R&B unsigned artists.
The UniverSoul Circus will be in Birmingham from Wednesday, August 12th to Sunday, August 16th at Legion Field under the Big Top.
Friday night, August 14th is Hip Hop Night at the UniverSoul Circus and Bama Hip Hop is coordinating a showcase of 3 local Alabama-based artists to perform before the kids and families in attendance. An audience of about 2500 is expected.
All music lyrics must be clean, radio edit versions of songs. No thugging, fighting, coochie or dope dealing songs permitted. This is a family affair of all ages. Bring your best party, dance, up beat, positive lifestyle type song to the mic. Auditions will be held in July. Selected Artists will get to perform 1 song and pass out promotional materials and CDs and will be promoted online, in media and flyers prior to the August 14th show. (Sorry, no sales permitted due to UniverSoul Circus agreement with concession company.)
Open Mic auditions will be held in July---to be announced. If interested send a Myspace message to us with your email address and contact person name here or email bamahiphop@yahoo.com Put the words CIRCUS HIP HOP NIGHT as the subject of the message so we can spot it quickly. We will get back to you shortly on the location and times of the auditions.
We are also looking for ticket sponsors to help us send youngsters in daycare or school to the circus shows from families of limited incomes for the educational as well as the entertainment value of this special experience.
Bama Hip Hop is an Alabama based performance opportunity network helping unsigned Hip Hop and R&B artists and independent labels in general get seen, heard and connected in Alabama and surrounding areas though a program of open mics, showcases, record pools, nightclubs, festivals, special events and promotional campaigns.

What do we need from you?
We are like a delivery service. We primarily deliver your message into the hands, in front of the eyes and into the ears of the music loving, party going and retail buying public. To start with we need an outline of your promotions and marketing needs. What do you want to do? If available, a complete promotions sample package from you including (at least 1 item each), CDs, flyers, posters, press releases or press kit, magazine or newspaper articles and reviews, merchandise samples (t-shirts, key chains, sweat bands, etc), business card and any other materials you feel will give a good sense of who we are working for and what we are working with. Send what you do have. What you don't have and want to get we can discuss that with you also.
What is this going to cost?
One size does not fit all. Almost every individual campaign will be custom tailored to include some or all of the above according to your goals, interests and budget. There are some basic standard packages offered, such as email blasts, which can be expanded by tagging on other services. Certain specialty programs such as the college tour have a fixed budget rate. Most programs will run 90 days, some longer, some less. Let us know what your goals are and how much you expect to set aside for your budget. You will be given a written budget by us before you commit to any agreement to commission us to carry out your campaign.

*you get only one time on the mic--no collabos: if ya boi wants to help with your song then he can't come up later on to do his own song--you in it together all the way or you go solo
*no lip synching--if you rap or sing over your entire song you lose points so we better be able to hear your voice clearly
*come with a show--a well planned, rehearsed presentation. The selected artist will perform in front of a crowd of 1,000 people. Act like an Opening Act.
*your name must be on the CD. No name, no performance.
