I miss living in Georgia and will always be a Georgia girl in my heart.
I love the big farms in South Georgia,Oak trees w/spanish moss,Camellias,
cotton fields,boiled peanuts,going barefoot,old trucks,the blue holes and shoals on the Flint River.
North Georgia in the fall and dreams of gold.
I am Southern to the bone.
I am not proud of all the things that have taken place in Southern history.
I love turnip greens,cornbread,sweet tea,cheese grits and
all the things that make this place my home.

I have a Masters Degree in making mistakes and bad choices.
I have learned to stop blaming other people for my problems.
Life is too short to dwell on past mistakes.

I grew up in a cotton mill town where everyone lived in mill villages.
I am proud of that because those people worked hard and
didn't make union pay.
They were just proud to have a job,a small home and
good food on the table.

I grew up around people who cared about each other and not material things.
My Grandparents came from the country.(they never forgot their roots)
They had to leave farming for the textile mills.

What a wonderful life I've had,
I only wish I had realized it sooner.
Times haven't always been PEACHY in Georgia
But I miss it with all my HEART.



~They past an ordinance in the town.. Said we'd have to tear it down..
That little brown shack out back so dear to me..
Though the health department said it's day was over and dead..
It will stand forever in my memory~
