Bam Bam is comprised of local music veterans:
Cherie Martin on lead vocals (formerly of The Cherie Martin Band, Big as a House
etc). Cherie has one of the most acclaimed, powerful and soulful voices in DC.
She's played with the best musicians in DC, and we're lucky to have her in Bam
Bam. Cherie's also currently doing vocal instruction at the School of Rock as
well...
Jerry Stewart on bass & vocals (formerly of 100th Monkey and The Mark Stanley
Band). Jerry is a Weather Report/Jaco fusion freak slumming with us doing
Pop/Rock and Funk, but he's acclimated fairly well. A formal choral student,
Jerry has an incredibly frustrating habit of being right on every single note in
every harmony part on every record ever recorded. You just accept it after
awhile and learn from him.
Steve Bradshaw on guitar & vocals. Steve came via our lead vocalist Cherie, and is a tremendous player. Steve hails from Philly and has been in a number of successful local acts with Cherie... Steve also came very close to "The Dream" back in the 80s. He was part of a Philly band called "Asylum" that signed with Warner Brothers and opened up for Night Ranger (amongst others).
Elliott de Luca on drums & vocals (formerly w/Mark Stanley, Cravin' Dogs,
Jonasay, 3 Sense Shy, Junkfood etc). Elliott is a Berklee grad that has done
time in innumerable local bands. So MANY bands that we wonder whether he's got
issues. He does. But we accept them. Like every member in Bam Bam, Elliott has
simply been striving to be in a cover project that's better than most. That's
not satisfied with "close enough for rock and roll."
The idea behind the band is fairly simple... to not be satisfied with hacking
through the same songs every other cover band does ad nauseum, and to do it with
musicians who aren't simply part-time hobby musicians. We strive to nail the
material, not to simply be satisfied faking it for the sports bar crowds. With
top level pro musicianship and 3-4 part harmonies, Bam Bam is a rare band that
takes music seriously... come see for yourselves.
If you like "good" music regardless of genre or born-on date, then Bam Bam is
the band for you. Everything from Earth, Wind and Fire and Bill Withers to
Fountains of Wayne and Kings of Leon. Let Bam Bam rock your world.
