   About Bancroft Records
A REAL rock-n-roll record label based in a town that doesn't even seem to like rock-n-roll. Started in 2002 Bancroft has released records (as in vinyl...most the locals still have a hard time understanding that concept too) by the Mystery Girls, the Tears, the Real Losers, the Catholic Boys, Jack "Oblivian" Yarber & the Tennessee Tearjerkers, Black Time and the Goodnight Loving. We're also the jokers behind Smashin' Transistors zine, an accomplice in the only good dj nights for miles around and occasionally bring a band though this town too.

Last 4th of July my buddy who hates the government and pretty much everything else in the free world brought a couple sticks of homemade dynamite to a bbq in Wicker Park and literally blew one of those big plastic state issued garbage cans on wheels approximately 15 feet into the air. Pretty rad.
