Æterna is a musical proyect that was born in the middle of 2004, under the primary idea of Carlos Astorga and Rodrigo Nanjarí, both guitar and keyboard players, who aspire to start a band in which they can plasm different musical styles from rock and psicodelic, from Doom Metal till Ambient, having as a personal mark the idea of a dark and atmospheric rock with a female voice contrasting it, all of this in the creative search for sensitive atmospheres.

At the end of 2006, finally join the proyect Camila Cerda in the vocals, Marcelo Venegas in the bass guitar and Rubén Gajardo in the drums. This formation is the one that makes posible and fosters the creative horizons of the band, which starts to define in a more especific way the musical style that will be tackled rescuing concepts from Doom, Progresive Rock, Post-rock and Ambient, creating a style of music that limits in every ambit with the experimental.

At the beginning of 2008, the band records and publishs their first demo, "Promo '08", which includes the tracks "Cautiverio", "Pigmalión" and "Adiós", all recordings made in their rehersal room, plus a fourth bonus track "Adiós (acoustic version)", recorded in the studies of Universidad Tecnológica de Chile (Technologic University from Chile). Finaly, the desire of recording something in a professional way becomes stronger and in the middle of the same year the band starts the recording of their first musical production, an EP that includes three tracks, plus other shorter tracks. The presentation of this material is expected for November of the present year.

Æterna as a group, aims since the beginning to create music able to rescue and safeguard sensations and feelings further from the inmediate ones, materialized between the atmospheres of each musical piece, with strong and emotive melodies, and a captivating voice. In this sence, Æterna wants to rescue a musical idea that has the role of transporting listeners to deeper and more complex sensations and reflections.

Æterna es un proyecto musical iniciado a mediados del año 2004, bajo la idea primaria de Carlos Astorga y Rodrigo Nanjarí, ambos guitarristas y tecladistas, quienes aspiran comenzar una banda en donde se puedan plasmar distintos gustos musicales provenientes del rock y la psicodelia, desde el Doom Metal hasta el Ambient, conservando como sello personal la idea de un rock oscuro y atmosférico con una voz femenina contrastando de fondo, todo en la búsqueda de la creación de atmósferas sensitivas.

A finales del año 2006, se unen finalmente al proyecto Camila Cerda en la voz, Marcelo Venegas en el bajo y Rubén Gajardo en la batería. Aquella conformación posibilita y potencia el horizonte creativo de la banda, quien comienza a definir de manera más específica el estilo musical que abordará, rescatando conceptos provenientes del Doom, el Rock Progresivo, el Post-rock y el Ambient, creando un tipo de música que limita en todos los ámbitos con lo experimental.

A comienzos del año 2008, la banda graba y publica su primer demo, “Promo ‘08”, el cual reúne los temas “Cautiverio”, “Pigmalión” y “Adiós”, más un cuarto tema bonus track, “Adiós versión acústica”. Finalmente, el deseo de grabar algo de forma profesional se hace más fuerte y a mediados del mismo año comienzan la grabación de su primera producción musical, un EP que cuenta con tres temas, más otros cortos de menor duración.

Æterna como conjunto, aspira desde sus inicios a crear una música capaz de rescatar y salvaguardar sensaciones y sentimientos más allá de lo inmediato, materializados entre las atmósferas de cada tema, con melodías fuertes y emotivas, y una voz cautivante. En este sentido, Æterna proyecta rescatar una idea musical que cumpla el rol de transportar a los oyentes hacia sensaciones y reflexiones más profundas y complejas.
