"You Getting Traded"
Bandanaz is a blend of versatility, soul, and the true essence of Hip-hop culture. As a definitive staple of Seattle Hip Hop, Asun of the dynamic crew Alpha-P has been captivating and opening the minds of the masses for over a decade. Striking a pivotal balance between raw skill, stylistic diversity, and a keen sense of purpose, ASUN, also known as Suntonio Bandanaz, is taking underground Hip Hop to the next level. With his spitfire delivery, that uniquely laces hypnotic syncopation to hard-hitting rhythmic cadences, complimented by his magnetic, melodious hooks that punctuate critically conscious, direct, and provocative lyrical content, BANDANAZ is changing the game.
Asun, aka “Suntonio Bandanaz” is the core emcee and spearhead of the pioneering Seattle collective of deejays, b-boys, and other artist- visionaries, Alpha P. Asun has endured much adversity and struggle in his own coming-of-age, and this veteran emcee envisions music as a platform to not only entertain, but also to uplift, unify, and empower by generating knowledge of self, cultural relevance, and artistic expression.
Since the mid 90s, Asun has created a massive catalogue of independent material and releases on CD, tape, vinyl and video. Projects include- Heavenly Ghetto Cuts, Verbal Swordsmen, The Naps Project, The House That Love Built vol. 1 & 2, Bread N Butter, Mad Won West Coast Under Low, 4 Evergreen Cuts, Titanium Buttermilk Rhinoceros Briefcase, Progress, Prof. Maklemore, Mobile Suit Battle Memoires, Codex Di Satio, Other Ground Label Sampler, Reigncraft vol. 3, Nishkaigan, Best of Seattle, Power Man & Iron Wrist vol. 1 & 2. & West Coast Scavengers 12, and now, the new album “Who is Suntonio Bandanaz?!”
Through the years, Asun and Alpha-P has created professional partnerships with many community-based organizations and crews such as- Project Mayhem, MAD Krew, Universal Zulu Nation, Project Blowed, Silent Lambs Project, Black Anger, Tribal, 206-Hop, Sea-Sick, War Party Thugs, Masters of the Universe, Abyssinian Creole, Mind Movers, Battle Axe, Black Swan Foundation, Hip Hop Congress, and 206 Zulu.
Most recently, Asun has joined forces with Seattle-based multimedia and record company MADK Productions to produce what is widely considered the best solo album from Alpha-P recorded to date, “Suntonion Bandanaz.” Synonymous with an ambient, hardcore, b-boy, and revolutionary element, the record is one of the most anticipated, groundbreaking records of the year from the Northwest. With vibrant charisma, moving stage presence, years of experience, and breadth of style, Asun is emerging from the fertile belly of Seattle’s underground with a ferocity that is sure to keep your eyes glued.
TO MY WARRIORS, PROPHETS, PEACEMAKERS AND ANGELS-The evil men for many moons have sought to destroy our kind. They have destroyed our temples, they have burned our books, they have burned our bodies, they have buried us alive, but more than this, they have tried to create a world that makes us irrelevant or so bizarre in the eyes of the masses that we are unable to be seen for what we are. Imagine Jesus the Christ (I am not religious) floating down from the clouds in his promised return - imagine how fucking weird that looks against the plastic castles and poison pools of this world. Would it be broadcast on CNN? All of the "system" is designed to trap the prophets and angels like the sticky threads of a spider web. They have not succeeded. We are more powerful. In the 1970's in the city of New York, an anointed culture resistant to their usual weapons emerged. The holy tribe of Hip hop was born. This ultra modern movement created a bridge between the ancient world and ours. Hip hop gives a context for the resurrection of the old medicine people, ways and warriors. The survival and evolution of humanity is dependent on the health of Hip hop. We who have been called need to give it everything we got!-THE TIME IS NOW, Tsunami

Suntonio Bandanaz->A STORY-I find myself upon a jagged and rocky PATH in a seemingly barren LAND-My feet are NAKED and I am holding a SACRED infant in my arms, we are wrapped in ONE cloth-From behind a rock a creature neither female nor male, but some kind of ANGEL appears-The creature speaks-"You-mortal woman, what are you doing in this land, you do not belong here?-How did the child come into your HANDS, you did not bare that being?"-I reply-"There are many SECRETS kept even from the Angels-I have long ago stopped asking how I came to be here-It is that I am-This baby is in my care and my arms the child will not leave until our destination reached-You creature should bless my travels and thank THE MOST HIGH you were not chosen-I have known much BLOOD-Now clear the trail-I must MOVE ON-To be continued... SMOKE SIGNALS, Tsunami
