    SELVA fue conformada en 1999 y graba en el 2000 un primer demo:"Mantram", con el cual ganan la mención a Banda Revelación Año 2000, otorgada por la Radio Metro Stereo. En Agosto del 2002 lanza su primera producción a la venta llamada LA RADIO CONTRA LA CABEZA con la que obtiene la mención de Mejor Banda Nacional del Año 2001, otorgada por la Radio Metro Stereo. En febrero del 2003 ingresa Juan Francisco Martínez y SELVA cambia su afinación regular para lograr un sonido más fuerte, más pesado, más contemporáneo. Con esta alineación la banda empieza una nueva etapa y graba en el 2004 un nuevo EP de 4 temas llamado SELVA, definiendo así la nueva propuesta del grupo. En Octubre del 2005 lanza su primer video musical del tema Atrapados, con el cual ganaron el jueves 26 de enero del 2006, un reconocimiento al Mejor Video 2005 Género Alternativo, Mis Bandas Nacionales organizado por el canal TV HOY, la Radio HOT 106, y la Alcaldía Metropolitana de Quito. Además, el video fue seleccionado para proyectarse durante la Muestra Internacional de Cine de Animación, Animac 2006, que se realizó en España en marzo del 2006. El trabajo fue seleccionado para formar parte de la sesión CLIPS para el que se contó con la colaboración del Programa de la Televisión de Cataluña LOOPS! Este programa, dedicado a la música contemporánea y las tendencias, realizó un especial sobre la animación y los clips musicales basado en la sesión del festival. Después de la acogida que tuvo su nueva propuesta, a partir de octubre del 2007 comienza el proceso de grabación de su nuevo disco llamado "LUZ", explorando y mostrando todo lo que la banda és tanto en música como en la filosofía de su experiencia humana. ____________________________________ SELVA was conformed in 1999 in Quito, Ecuador and after one year of their formation they record and release their first studio demo named :" Mantram"; work that would grant them the mention to Revelation Band of the Year, in 2000, offered by the most important radio station at that time, Radio Metro Stereo. In August 2002 the quartet release their independent-debut called "LA RADIO CONTRA LA CABEZA", being this their first work published and available on stores. With this album SELVA was voted in 2001 the Best Band of the Year, also by the radio station Radio Metro Stereo. In February 2003, after one year of the lead singer's resignation, Juan Francisco Martinez joins the band and SELVA finds the space, time and conditions to redefine their performance and to be honest with their selves and the music they wanted to produce. Modifications as lower tuning, faster tempos, unexpected brakes and the inclusion of midi sequences were made to achieve a more contemporary, heavier, stronger and authentic sound. With a wider perspective and a new soul the band begins to write a new chapter and records in 2004 a new EP containing 4 tracks and they decide to name it as the band, making clear that with the entrance of Juan "all the pieces were complete" and that SELVA was ready to go. In October 2005 the band releases an official video of the single "Atrapados" (Trapped) and starts to be broadcasted by music video shows in and outside Ecuador. This work is voted Best Alternative Music Video 2005 by the public on Mis Bandas Nacionales, award ceremony sponsored by the television broadcasting company TVHoy, the radio station Radio HOT 106 and the City Hall. "Atrapados" official video was also selected out of hundreds of other animation productions to be presented at the Muestra Internacional de Cine de Animación, Animac 2006 (Animated Film International Showcase, Animac 2006), in Spain and later included in the TV show CLIPS, from Catalunia television, as a part of a special program regarding the best works in animation presented in the international showcase. With some new feedback and good acceptance from their old and new fans SELVA goes back in the studio and start producing what would be their new statement and sound to be identified with; the album "LUZ" (LIGHT).
