I Black Diamond (di Bernalda –MT–) nascono nel Dicembre del 2004, da un’idea di Dino Russo (chitarra), suo fratello Enzo (basso), Aris Volpe (batteria) e Graziachiara Melissa (voce). Da subito iniziano la composizione delle prime canzoni e gli si pone il problema di trovare un sound più completo. Prediligendo un genere vicino al power e al progressive, cercano un tastierista e lo trovano in Simone Mezzapesa, che nel Marzo del 2005 entra a far parte della band. Con il completamento della line-up, iniziano a tenere numerose esibizioni in locali pubblici e in manifestazioni locali (Festa della Musica, Festa dello Studente, varie feste di piazza, ecc.). Nell’Agosto del 2005 si classificano secondi al “Lucania Rock Festival” (finale tenutasi a Scanzano –MT–) e nell’Agosto del 2007 hanno l’onore di aprire, insieme ad altre due band, il concerto della Strana Officina, in occasione del “Colobraro Touching Metal Festival” (Colobraro –MT–).
Nel Novembre del 2006 registrano il loro primo demo-cd “Imprisoned Dreams”, presso il Mediterraneo Studio di Massimo Stano (Santeramo in Colle –BA–), che riscuote un discreto successo tra pubblico e critica. Nel Settembre del 2007 tornano in studio e registrano un nuovo demo che, unito al precedente, ha dato vita al loro primo mini-cd intitolato “Mourning for Me”.
Il genere che propongono non è facilmente definibile, a causa delle molte e diverse influenze e preferenze musicali che i cinque componenti si portano nella stesura delle canzoni. Ad ogni modo, a detta delle critiche ricevute sul loro primo lavoro “Imprisoned Dreams”, si tratta di un progressive-power-gothic metal.
Nel Gennaio del 2008 firmano un contratto di promozione, della durata di un anno, con la Club Inferno Promotion Agency di Salerno.
Attualmente sono impegnati nella stesura di nuovi brani e, ovviamente, in varie esibizioni!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------BIOGRAPHY--In December 2004 Dino Russo (guitars), Enzo Russo (bass), Aris Volpe (drums) and Graziachiara Melissa (vocals) decide to form a band playing progressive Metal. In March Simone Mezzapesa (keys) joins the band giving new facets to the band's sound. From May 2005 the band starts playing in several shows; among these the Lucania Rock Festival. In November 2006 the band records their first demo"Imprisoned Dreams" at the Mediterraneo Studio (BA). The various positive reviews push the band to work more at their new work. In the meantime the band continues making many shows, for example at the Colobraro Touching Metal Festival (summer 2007). In July, waiting for the recordings of he new release, the band records a videoclip for the song 'December Winds' with the collaboration of the young director Giuseppe Albano. In september the recordings of the second demo are at its end and together with "Imprisoned Dreams" will go to form "Mourning for Me", out in November!---------------------------------
