The band has recently been tipped as one to watch by Vic Galloway of BBC Radio1 and Tom Robinson of BBC 6 music who was quoted saying “If a band can sound that good at this stage in their career just think where they can take it later”. Castaway a five piece band from Glasgow who formed four years ago from the ashes of two rival bands. Since then they have managed to create a unique sound combining electro, psychedelica and rock stemming from their influences of Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Kings Of Leon, Travis, Oasis, Pink Floyd, Coldplay and Muse.
Some of the main highlights have seen the band open for the likes of The Feeling and Kate Nash. They were also invited by DF concerts to open for The Happy Mondays at The Edinburgh Corn Exchange as part of T on the Fringe with. Saturday August 30th saw them launch their first EP “The Beginning of the Masquerade” at The Classic Grand in Glasgow. This is now available to download from itunes and buy in CD format from Fopp and Avalanche record stores. Early 2010 will see them release thier first single and 2nd EP.

Hey hows you? x just wanted to mention iam touring all over the UK from september for a year, traveling all over got the first 4 months up and adding more and more to it, the first 3 months is for Busking For Cancer :) in Aid for cancer research, all the shows are free so would be awesome to see you at a show supporting wat im touring for, check out our dates and if we arnt playing in your area then please do let us know cause it is for a FULL year so we wanna get everywhere and anywhere :) also recording new stuff this weekend so new songs will be up :) anyways hoping ur having a good start to the summer.
Ah cool man, i've not had a chance to listen to your stuff yet because my speakers are wrecked but I will do as soon as I can. Jamie's a top guy so i'm sure you've got some class recordings there.
