i used to think heroes had to be someone that could save the planet, or hell, save someone else. but a hero is someone who can save themselves. these are the people i look up to. the ones that successfully recover from hardships, the ones that keep pushing forward when things look so down and awful.
my heroes are the ones that can do anything. that can look their own fears in their face and challenge them. and succeed.
the people i look up to are mostly my friends. stuck in the same shitty places i am, but are still strong. like matt, who fights for the people he cares about even when they treat him like garbage. like bryan, who did whatever he could to be closer to the girl he loves. like pamela, who fights through miserable days that she can't see the end of. like sue, who gets dealt hard hands time after time and still makes it through.
my heroes are the people that help me to see there is a day after today. they remind me to look for tomorrow because you can start over again. i can only live one day at a time right now, but my heroes are helping me to live life the way i used to...

I like building robots, yes, 130lb. metallic things that run on radio control. I like photography, but sadly, I'm no artist yet. I like spending time on my computer and talking to friends from around the country. I like flying to places I've never been for reasons people think are extreme and sometimes odd. I like being in marching band, as geeky as that sounds.
I like knowing that I have friends I can call at 3am, and that they know they have the same. I like feeling welcomed, and warm, and at home as soon as I walk into a room.
I like to drive. I like to bike ride, and swim, and play soccer. I like watching movies and laughing at jokes that no one quite understands.
I like being girly, but I like being boyish. I like coming home from a long day and having grease covering my hands. I like taking hot showers at night that destress everything that went wrong earlier in the day.
I like music. I like playing music, and seeing shows, and listening to music, and collecting cds. I like underground bands that most people haven't heard of, and I like promoting them. I like going to huge blowout concerts and buying t-shirt after t-shirt even if I've never heard the band.

I like writing, period. I like poetry, and prose, and scribbling things that don't make a word of sense. I like keeping my online journal, and expressing things and knowing you relate.
I love art, digital art, pencil art, pen on paper doodles, just all any any art. i'm inspired by creative pop artists like the infamous Roy Lichtenstein and even the contemporary Tim Hawkinson. I love Kurt Halsey and Vik Muniz, but my work is all my own. From pencil smudged value grids to paint-covered hands, to click and drag in a photoshop window, it's all beautiful.
I like quoting cheesy cliches, and being completely un-subtle. I like not hiding who I am, and being blunt and honest almost all the time. I like not caring who likes me.
