CLAYBORN STOPT DEFINITIEF

De Rotterdamse rockformatie Clayborn stopt. Frontvrouw Crazy Jane en bassist Rogier Drinkenburg kunnen nog geen afscheid nemen van de energieke rockband Clayborn wanneer in september vorig jaar gitarist Kurt Amat en drummer Wouter van Wijk aangeven zich op andere dingen te willen storten. Na nieuwe muzikanten gezocht te hebben en enige live shows te doen met de nieuwe formatie is er toch besloten dat er niet genoeg vibe is binnen de band. Na 6 jaar van vele optredens is de koek op.

Clayborn heeft vooral de afgelopen jaren een sterke live reputatie opgebouwd. De band speelde in de grote en kleinere zalen in Nederland en België en tourde in Oostenrijk. Ook stonden zij onder andere 2 keer op het hoofdpodium van de Zwarte Cross (2007 en 2008), speelden zij op Metropolis, Parkpop Kaderock, Berghpop en Rockweekend America. Daarnaast heeft Clayborn 2 EP's op zijn naam staan en 1 volledig album "Every Dog Has Its Day". De single The Mission wordt op verschillende nationale radio en TV stations gedraaid en ook is bij de song een videoclip opgenomen.

Alle leden van Clayborn geven aan wel door te gaan in de muziek. Crazy Jane zal zich vooral gaan richten op haar solo carrière. Haar solo album, getiteld "365 Mornings" kan na de zomer al verwacht worden.

Biography

Clayborn is a rockband from the port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Their supercharged energetic shows, brimfull of high-octane rock 'n roll bravado have been shaking the foundations of the Dutch live scene since 2003. After releasing two successfull EP records they now unleash their first full-length album entitled: «Every Dog Has Its Day» upon the world. Confronting, energetic and sensitive; The band explores the boundaries of contemporary rock. This band is passionate, expressive and aggressive, boasting the explicit lyrics of she-devil Crazy Jane, the grit and dissonance of guitarist Kurt Amat and a ballsy rhythmsection personified by bassplayer Rogier Drinkenburg and drummer Wouter "Wally" van Wijk (Stöma / Doodoo’s Coffee). The album «EDHID» has everything that might be expected from these headstrong Rotterdam rockers: Steaming rock with a touch of insanity and a hint of erotica; Clayborn is "Neu-Rock-Tica".

2004:

- Feb: EP «_Release».
- Dec: Dutch music magazine LiveXS proclaims Clayborn to be Local Heroes. Clayborn joins the "Dommelsch Locals Only On Tour" and plays around the whole country

2005:

- June: EP «Kiss Me» is released by DAWA Records/Peptide Music, a sublabel of Suburban
- July: Clayborn plays at Parkpop, the Hague, one of the biggest free music festivals in Europe
- October: Clayborns music is featured in the winning film at the Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival
- December: MTV airs part of the Parkpop gig in their "Brand New" show.

2006:

- March: Clayborn plays live on Kink FM (national radio)
- April: Clayborn plays at Rockweekend America
- Summer: Clayborn does several of the bigger summerfestivals like: Zebrafestival, Knorpop, Zomersplotszfestival, Summerstartfestival and de Popronde
- September: Clayborn is featured in an item on the MTV show "6 Pack"
- October:the full-length album «Every Dog Has Its Day» is released by DAWA Records/ Peptide Music. Starting november 10th the album is available throughout the Benelux and beyond...
- November: Clayborn shoots their first video. «The Mission» directed by Stef Brok.

2007:

- January: Release videoclip The Mission at the International Film Festival Rotterdam.
- May: Clayborn plays at the International “Playfestival” in Hasselt, Belgium
- July: Clayborn performs on the progressive festival in the Netherlands ‘Metropolis’
- August: Clayborn is awarded ‘3FM Serious Rock Talent’ by the biggest national radiostation. Clayborn rocks in front of 35.000 on the mainstage of ‘Zwarte Cross Festival’ and on “Solar Festival”, Roermond.

2008/2009 Clayborn members Wouter van Wijk en Kurt Amat leave the band in September 2008. Rogier and Crazy Jane find 3 new guys to play with, Tobias Ponsioen, Matthias van Beek and Maarten de Boer. In April 2009, after doing a couple of live shows together, the band decides to quit, because of a lack of vibe between the band members.
