Christoffer's project was earlier named "Dead Winter Rose" and was a dedicated love project for the one he loved back then, but after a year or two it took a different shape and the songs didn't only involve love, but also loneliness, suicide and other depressive themes. Christoffer then decided that the name was to dull and then put it all to rest for several years.
Now 4 years after the project started, he's back and way more serious than he was then. The lyric process and the music process goes much easier and even if he has a long way to reach the ranking of a good guitarist, he's still working hard to get there. After the song "So Long For Nothing" was recorded and recieved great feedback from friends and forum people, he felt his motivation was bigger than ever.
The project has again taken a new turn as it was somewhat hard for me to make as personal music as the project would've turned out to be based on earlier writings. They are still personal, but in a different way. I've taken a step away from the acoustic part of the project and are now mixing in rock/metal to the sound to create more of a gothic rock/metal project. As you can hear with "Childhood Memories" there is a difference in the sound and the other songs will keep the same sound. I'm also going back to use the rough, unpolished vocals which I think fits to not make it a totally girlie goth band. There have to be some guts in it. More songs will come when the complete EP is getting ready.
Dysthymia is a perfect mood disorder that falls into the depression spectrum. When I read about it the first time I though that it seem like a rather natural state of depression rather than those major depressions where you basicly ain't able to do anything. And so I thought that it fitted perfectly to this project. A joy-spreading name for joy-spreading music
