Qualms is a rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Taking a minimalist approach, Nathan (guitar/vocals), and Ben (guitar/vocals), fill space with interwoven guitar lines, each doing their time "holding it down" as well as "taking the lead", all of which is accompanied by Dale’s impeccable drum work, approached in the same manner (so... two guitars, vocals, and drums...that’s it.). Nathan and Dale grew up together in Maine, and played in Phyllis. The two moved to Boston, where Dale joined Lynx with Dave Konopka (Battles), Paul Joyce (Check Engine, Ba-Na-Nas, Prantz-Fantast) and Mike Hutchins (a happily married impregnator). In the summer of 1999, Lynx made their way to Chicago, as did Nathan. Nathan met Ben, and the two began playing music together, first in a short-lived rock band (with drummer Elliot Talarico of Loraxx and, in theory, William Akins of Big’n and UPS fame), after which Nathan formed (and Ben soon joined) a band that, with time, became known as Home Recording Project. HRP drew upon older times and played sad, dark songs utilizing guitars, harmonium, percussion and cello. In July of 2007, Qualms got together for the first time, with the sole intent of playing guitar-based rock music once again. While drawing on the spirit and experimental aspects of the punk, metal, and post-punk bands/records of the late 80’s to early/mid-90’s (which all three teethed on), the band strives to channel classic rock bands from the previous two decades.

Available now on Deadburger's Myspace page: a brand new track, called "IL PIANETA DEGLI STRUZZI" (that means: "Planet Of the Ostrichs”. Italy, where we live in, is the Planet Of the Ostrichs). A sort of tribal trip, with sax impros, weird vocals and processed drums. Waiting for a visit of Qualms to Ostrichland….
