Lorem Ipsum is a rock band that uses uncommon rhythms, Middle Eastern harmonization techniques, and fast, metal-style power chords. They have their influences from many bands including System of a Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tool, Disturbed, and Iron Maiden.
Lorem Ipsum originated as a group of friends who decided to start a high school garage band. That small high school garage band turned into a local Pasadena, CA band, and has now turned into a band playing huge shows in Hollywood at venues such as The World Famous Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy, and The Knitting Factory (No, not their dinky side stages).
Every show that passes by ends up adding credentials for Lorem Ipsum as they have went from playing Pasadena to playing Hollywood in a period of 2 months. Since then, Lorem Ipsum has either played with or received offers to perform with bands such as Drowning Pool, Powerman 5000, Otep, Wednesday 13, Devildriver, Kill The Mockingbird, The Dreaming, Displaced, Flaw, Hyro da Hero, and 3rd Strike, just to name a few. Lorem Ipsum also had the honor to be one of the first bands to ever be given the opportunity to perform a live webcast on Ultimate-Guitar.com, starting with first being nominated to the top 4, and then winning the most votes, more than doubling the amount of votes the second band received.
Lorem Ipsum plans on continually booking shows and live webcasts for the near future, also including recording an album that is currently in the works. Check their myspace continuously to get all the updates!
