A little bit of grunge, a little bit of Soju, a lot of Distortion and a plethora of sounds - that is the essence of MiLLa. Coming from all over Klang Valley, MiLLa was originally formed by the merging of two minds; that of Han from his former grunge-metal band Phragyle and KC, Rogers and Calvin from their punk-rock cover band Broke or Nothing. Starting off as nothing more than a trial of wits and yearning to get a taste of the recording life, MiLLa's first EP "Of The Worms EP" back in 2003 paved the way for the band to commit full-time to their music. gigs were aplenty and after they organised their first gig in Paul's Place in Uptown, they were soon organising more and more gigs, while at the same time looking out to perform for other organisers as well. Though their schedule was hectic, MiLLa managed to squeeze enough time to produce a second EP titled "Dollhouse EP which showcased their growth within a few months prior to recording "Of The Worms EP".
However, lady luck turned a smile on them midway through recording their 3rd EP when Francis Cobb from @19 Records, an independent label, heard them and immediately signed them for a 2 year contract and a fully sponsored album recording. Without much hesitation, MiLLa signed on and hit the studio to record their debut album "Upon Teresa On The Dot. Taking full advantage of the studio's facilities and with the help of Selvam, @19's resident sound engineer, they began creating the unique sound that MiLLa is best known for.
Sadly, a member of the MiLLa family had to depart leaving a gaping hole in the groove section of percussions. Calvin's departure took a toll on the band as recording and gigging had to be delayed. The band didn't waste much time and sought out new drummers within the entire Klang Valley. Their search ended when CY, former drummer for J-Rock outfit RADE, showed his interest to try out playing for MiLLa. CY's enthusiasm and technical prowess proved to be a useful weapon in MiLLa's musical arsenal. As of now, MiLLa is currently planning for their album launch as well as kick-starting their gigging days in hopes of reaching newer heights in higher places.
