Manuel Río ( DJ Bando ) nació en Madrid en Diciembre del año 1974.
Comenzó su carrera en el año 1992 fuertemente influenciado por la música
electrónica del momento.



Empezó en Madrid en los clubs de moda de entonces... (Epsilon, Now Zarabanda, Mondino..) junto a Cristian Varela. Cuatro años más tarde compró su primer estudio de grabación y empezó a estudiar audio con uno de los mejores ingenieros de sonido de España (Pedro Vidal). Desde entonces ha pinchado a lo largo de toda la geografía española y parte del extranjero. Este polifacético artista dirigió durante tres años la escuela de Audio Midi en Phrenetic Estudio y ha impartido talleres de producción en la escuela CEV (Madrid) y en el festival Electrosonic (Burgos).


Ha actuado en festivales y salas de medio mundo, Japon (Maniac Love,Mago, Revolt...), Slovenia (Ambassada Gavioli, May Dance Party,Sinfonija...), Canada (Elevation Festival), Serbia (Paradiso,Lifka,Soft Spring Awaking Festival, Alcatraz...), Croacia (The Best) “Direct Drive 07”, Nokia Festival, Club Temple...), Montenegro (Noise Organization), Holanda (Awankenings) Colombia (Mission, La Kasa, Le Club, Gotica, Privilege, Twilo, 4U Festival...), Austria ( 4 Spring Festival), Chile (La feria, Festival Valparaiso...), Belgica (Silo), Bosnia (Titanium), Rumania (Romanian Electronic Festival)+ fiestas Primate Records en Alemania, Inglaterra, Croacia... Destacar la residencia que tuvo en la sala Cool de Valladolid desde el año 1999 hasta el 2001, año en que comienza su residencia en Emotion Techno Club de Madrid junto con Cristian Varela y artistas internacionales, que fue gestionada por Phrenetic Society, en la actualidad ya cerrada pero que tuvo un éxito enorme en las noches de los jueves de Madrid. En 2005/2006 fue residente en Side Experimental Club (Madrid) enfocado mas a tendecias Minimal y Electro House donde compartia residencia con Cristian Varela y compartio cartel con artistas de la talla de Karl Bartos, Josh Wink, Aril Brikha, David Carreta, Miss Yetti, Alex Under, Dj Inxx, Misstress Barbara...


Sus sets a 3 platos están llenos de dinámica y fuerza, su estilo, con mucha percusión y muy groovy hace de éste, un artista muy personal y de técnica muy depurada. Como productor le avalan más de 50 producciones (ver discografia) en sellos mundialmente conocidos, MbElektonics, Primate, Phont, Pornographic, Primevil, Superbra, Monoid, Northwest Dynamics, Elephantaus, Bound, Goodfellas, , Session, Donkeyhead…


Bando ha remezclado a Dj s como Ben Sims ( momento en el tiempo [Primate] ), Cristian Varela ( Pains [Primate] y Your body experience [Elephanthaus] ), Marco Bailey (MB Electronics) o Dj Misjah (Rerun).


Sus temas han sido licenciados e incluidos en cd mixes de grandes artistas por todo el mundo tales como: Umek (Timewarp), François Kevorkian(Frequencies) Jim Masters (Impossible blue), Marco bailey (Gazometertraxxx y Mixed Sessions) John Acquaviva (Danzoo Series), Michael Buekat (Latin Techno Session), Cristian Varela (Salon de mezclas vol.1 y vol.3), Q..hey (Sound Republic y Reboot 001), Lars Klein (Under Pressure v2) ...


Este artista fundó su propio sello, Patchwork Recordings en el que podemos encontrar remixes de los más importantes productores de la escena:

English Bio:

Bando real name Manuel Rio was born on December 13th of 1974. He started his DJ/Producing career in 1992, strongly influenced by the electronic music of that time. He started spinning in clubs in Madrid that were very popular in 1992 such as "Epsilon" and "Now." Four years later, he bought his first piece of studio equipment, which changed his musical direction; he started to study electronic music and how to produce it. Bando was taught by one of the best sound engineer in Spain (Pedro Vidal) and later, in consequence of the gained knowledge, he managed an audio-midi academy "Phrenetic Studio" for 3 years.

It is important to point out his residency for 2 years at the "Cool" club in Valladolid from 1999 until 2001, year in which he start a residency in Madrid at "Emotion Club" for almost 4 years with Cristian Varela and internartional artists, managed by Phrenetic Society, at the present time it..s closed but that was an enormous successful in the thursdays nights in Madrid. More recently he was resident in Side Experimental Club (Madrid) exclusively dedicated to minimal and electronic, where it shared residence with Cristian Varela and where he acted next to excellent artists like Karl Bartos, Josh Wink, Aril Brikha, David Carreta, Miss Yetti, Alex Under, Dj Inxx ...


His three decks sets are full of energy and strength. His taste in music is very refined so his set will be one to knock you off your feet...


As producer he has got more than 50 vinyl releases, in worldwide well-known labels like -Primate (U.k.), with four excellent releases, -Phont (ch), -Monoid (Ger), -Superbra (Ch), -Isoghi (Sp) ", -Primevil (Uk) (in wich he has worked with his real name, Manuel Rio), -Session (Belgium), -Sasa2 (Pp), -Bound (Ger), -Northwest dynamics (Holland). -Pornographic (Belgium/Spain), -Donkeyhead (Sp), -Goodfellas (Uk), -Techex (cz) As remixer, he has remixed people like Ben Sims ("Momento en el tiempo"/Primate), Marco Bailey (Mb Electronics), Dj Misjah (Rerun) or Cristian Varela ("Pains"/Primate and "Your body experience"/ Elephanthaus) this made him reach respect on the techno scene.
