LastMan is a metal band from Washington DC that was formed in late 2005. Musically the band forges punishing metal riffs with a "vicious groove" into songs that have unique personalities, resonating hooks, and relentless intensity. Lyrically the songs explore the everyday victories and frustrations of life, search for internal peace through self introspection, and recognize society's heroes that are all too often forgotten. LastMan provides a soundtrack and a voice for those who never give up the fight.
Their 1st release, "Instinct Over Ego" (IOE), showcases the versatility of the band's material and exhibits influences from world music elements with tracks such as Hope and Freedom and Last Chance.
LastMan expands on all the elements of IOE and provides a more focused attack with their newest EP, "Evolution", a heavier and more aggressive collection of songs that was released in June of 2008.
LastMan continues to tour regionally in support of the Evolution EP and plans to finish a second full length CD in early 2009, entitled "Rise of the Forgotten".

WHAT IS RELAY FOR LIFE U ASK ?
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.
Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3. 5 million people to:
Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.
Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.
