The band could be considered Jammy jazz-rock with a hint of folk and has a wide spectrum of influences ranging from Dave Matthews Band, Phish, John Mayer, Allman Brothers to Neil Young, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Led Zeppelin, Darth Vader and maybe even Indiana Jones.
The name Please Welcome was originally a joke between long time band mates, guitarist and singer Craig Williamson and drummer Justin Richardson. The joke-name existed so that venues could hypothetically state, “Please Welcome, Please Welcome”. The name seemed unique enough and the idea stuck. Within the last few months, Please Welcome has added long time friends and new faces such as Brandon Clendenin on bass, Adam Hill on saxophone, Katie Garrett on backup vocals and piano and Casey Markham on lead electric guitar and mandolin.
Please Welcome has performed at locations such as: The Rhinoceros Club, Backstreets (with “Hot Politics”), the Blind Tiger, Solaris, The Pour House, and Greene Street Club in Greensboro North Carolina, as well as The Hideaway (with “Beggar’s Caravan”) in Raleigh, North Carolina. We are currently expanding our show travels to Boone, Asheville, and Wilmington.
In the summer of 2007, Please Welcome recorded a nine-song demo under the label “Sound Judgment”, which is an independent Greensboro studio, as a three piece band. In October of 2008 Please Welcome heads back to the studio with the same producers in a new location with more experience and equipment, not to mention Please Welcome has doubled in size. Look for the new FULL LENGTH album early of 2009!
One of the most important focuses of the group is that it seeks to promote “green” ideas and sustainability by buying, wearing, and supporting organic, local products as well as sustainable development. The goal of the group is to achieve enough musical success to buy a van/bus that will run on biofuel and invest in various alternative energies to offset their own carbon footprint, and eventually fund construction of sustainable, local ecovillages.

hey! we are trying to change something... our new singer erik can't be a full member of dreamscape because the stess to travel a lot is affecting his health. so we decided to work with more than one singer - honestly we will work with even more than two... hopefully you will like that idea! we like it a lot because we will be very flexible and our sound will become even more complex! kind regards! DREAMSCAPE (progressive metal from germany) (new cd november 2009! - buy or let die!)
PS: always believe in your dreams! and don't get frightened if they are becoming real! - because for a believer they will!
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
