Robert Austen Parker was born in Houston, TX in 1993.He started out as an ordinary kid. But one day he became fascinated with bands and helping them become huge. His cousins David Libscomb Jr. and Dale Libscomb are in a Christian rock band called, “The Following.” They were a part of his inspiration. They grew up going to church with the Cyrus’s and going to school with the band Paramore. Austen was proud of his cousins and how they were getting to meet all kinds of famous people and he decided he wanted to have apart in it two.
Austen started out doing small things for his cousin and the band paramore before they were big. But then one day at a Paramore concert the drummer through a drums stick into the crowd and it hit Austen right in the face. He was in love with the drums stick and decided he wanted more from other bands. He then started messaging bands on MySpace telling him he would do all kinds of stuff to help them become bigger if they mailed him an autographed drums stick. Before he knew it, drums sticks were coming in his mail box like crazy. He was shocked and decided he would make a MySpace to help all these bands out. His company started out being named Band promotion Inc. but it later changed to Band Promotion Legacys.
Once Austen started building a fan base, he started getting to work with really big bands. He gets bands in magazines, on the radio, in newspapers and lots of other stuff. The average band he works with receives 2000+ friend request a month on MySpace. He has even sold 2000 albums for a band in one month because of his work.
Austen is told that he is an inspiration by many kids. His fans love him because he stuck with his dream and he is now getting to meet up with lots of really big bands like 3oh!3 and the white tie affair at backstage parties.
Austen has been featured in many newspapers and talked about on many radio stations.
Austen doesn’t use his Band Promotion Legacys site just for band promoting though. He is now making lots of money off the bands and donates 10% of his earnings to churches who donate it to people in need.

I think that only being 15-16 years old and starting and running your own business that promotes all kinds of bands is pretty awesome. It just goes to show that if you're really wanting to do something and you're 100% dedicated to it, you can make it happen. Even though Parker grew up around artists and bands that eventually went big, giving him a bit of an advantage into this specific field of music, he could've still went out and met bands on his own. Just because you don't have any immediate connections doesn't mean that there's no hope. I also think that it shows a lot of good character to give money to those in need.

I think that this kid shows that if you really want something, you can make it come true if you try hard enough. Austen wanted autographed drumsticks from bands, so he promised a whole bunch of bands that he could help them get famous if they sent him a pair of autographed drumsticks. He made his dream come true.

I think that this is a really innovative idea, and the inspiration for the Band Promotion Legacy site is honestly quite amazing. some people would be made a bit mad by getting hit in the face but the fact that it started thie whole company is awe-inspiring. I think its cool that a kid probably younger than me was able to do all this. He probably has connections with every major band out on the market right now, which is something most record labels only dream of obtaining. I can only imagine how much money this kid makes from helping bands find their way into the music business. He was lucky enough to be a "member" of paramore, so obviously this isnt rags to riches, but it's still pretty impressive.

I think it is cool that a Young man, helped out all of those bands become famous, including his cousin's band. Also I like how when he the drummer of whatever band threw his drum sticks and hit him in the face Austen fell in love with drum sticks or drumming. It would be cool to get an autograph drum stick from a famous drummer like Austen did.
