BAKC is a collective of artists on the UK new music scene that are taking action against knife crime in the areas they live in by raising awareness through music.
BAKC was set up by Broccoli Music and Paul from the band Karova whilst reflecting on the state of our society and the times we are living in. They came to the conclusion that what is missing for young people today is opportunities to make positive choices and positive role models to emulate.
The idea is for bands to come together, uniting their voices and playing events to raise awareness for the BAKC campaign.
BAKC aim to inspire ALL young people, offering them alternative choices in life and plausible ways into in to the music industry.
The campaign will include a series of competitions for young people aged 25 and under
Prizes include a day in the EMI Roundhouse recording studio, a day’s work experience for a journalist and photographer at London Tour Dates magazine and a day on a photo shoot with a professional photographer.
BAKC will encourage young people to form bands, design BAKC artwork, take photos of musicians and music events
Please join us on our Facebook group. Invite your friends to join and if you’re in a band ad your fans to the group and a picture of yourselves to keep up with developments on the BAKC campaign
We have now started to put pressure on MPs and local gov services and the more fans we get the more pressure we can put on these people to start making a change and the bigger and better events we can do.!
