The Band Scramble was born in October 2004, in Frederick's Music Lounge in St Louis, Missouri.
Twenty brave souls were randomly assigned bands (names drawn from beer pitchers) and given three weeks to put together three entirely original songs. On one night only, those four bands performed their new collaborative work. Bands were judged on stage presence, songwriting, technical skill, and crowd reception. After a highly entertaining show, the winners received beer, cash prizes, and untold glory.
