Bands on Grand was created in order to raise awareness of the downtown Phoenix arts scene by promoting Grand Avenue music venues and art galleries, as well as the artists that play their music and display their artwork in said venues.
On March 11th, 2006, the first Bands on Grand festival was held. It encompassed 8 Grand Avenue venues/galleries, as well as 41 local acts.
May 12th, 2007 brought the second coming of the Bands on Grand festival. 45 local acts performed in 9 Grand Avenue venues.
Due to the resounding success of the previous Bands on Grand festivals, a third event is currently in the works. Look for an even bigger and better Bands on Grand on November 15th, 2008!
