Different periods of my life have different musical influences. Some of my favs are: Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Janis Joplin, The Band, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, SRV, Van Morrison, Flatts and Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Chris Thile and Nickle Creek, Bella Fleck, Elvis Costello, The Grateful Dead, Doc Watson, Chet Atkins, P-Funk Allstars, Randy Rhoades, Jeff Buckley, They Might Be Giants, Frank Zappa, Dead Kennedy's, DOA, Black Sabbath, Maceo Parker, Booker T. and MG's, Commander Cody, and the awesome poetry/lyrics of Shel Silverstein. Wow, I'm looking at this list I just typed up and I wouldn't blame ya a bit if you thought I was crazy :)
I think these self written bio things are lame but I guess its the best
way to sum myself up in a few paragraphs to anyone I havent met before. Above
all, I am a music nut.
I enjoy performing, playing, and writing music. I spend most of my free time
twanging an instrument. I have played stringed instruments most of my life
except for a brief period between middle school and high school where I played
trumpet. But string instruments have always held a fascination I play guitar,
banjo, bass, mandolin, dobro, and piano (it has strings, Ive checked). I also
enjoy recording and record myself and friends. Ive written and recorded the
theme song for Ghostly Talk, an internet based paranormal radio show, which is
now breaking out into FM radio world as well. I also perform at many open mic
stages around Indianapolis. I also have a band, The Highway Kind that I
perform with.
I also am working at becoming a luthier. I am slowly building my first
acoustic guitar. Ive been working on it for about 2 years. Its been slow
but I have been learning as I go. Im sure the next one will go faster.
When Im not playing music Im working at my real job. I am production
manager for many corporate events. I also do live video and audio production for
corporate and entertainment events around the country, which keeps me on the
move most of the time.

yes, all the cool people do paranormal talk show themes! I myself am credited for penning the theme to THE EDGE AM, a paranormal/conspiracy internet show. It is indeed a badge of honor knowing that paranoid freaks are hearing our art as they cower under their beds!
Big Indianapolis Songwriters Cafe show *THIS* Friday! Cliff Snyder takes a writers spot instead of hosting this month and is joined by some of the best original musicians Indy has to offer! Really!
Stop by the site, read an article or check out the community calendar for all sorts of songwriterish shows. (make sure to send your show dates for the calendar if you're doing original acoustic music!)
