_As the backing band for Public Enemy’s live show, Hardgroove, Khari, Mike and DJ Lord received an enormous amount of accolades for helping take PE’s show to a higher level. _After a show in Boston, Hardgroove suggested to the other musicians that they consider recording a record of their own and sell it along with other PE merchandise at the shows. _The idea was well received, however, due to various commitments, it took two years to materialize.
_When the record was finally scheduled for production, Johnny Juice was asked to co-produce with Hardgroove. After lengthy discussions between the members, it was decided that Juice would join the group as well. As the original studio DJ for Public Enemy, Johnny Juice was well know for his contributions to the early classic albums, and his unique viewpoint of the PE legacy made the addition a “no brainer”.
_Hardgroove had worked with Chuck D on projects outside of PE prior to Chuck’s invitation to lead the live band. Having been a fan of PE for many years, Hardgroove understood PE’s music and message and was able to win Chuck’s respect and trust. When Hardgroove told Chuck about the record idea, Chuck immediately suggested “the baNNed” as a name and everyone agreed.
_Khari had been recruited into the PE fold by Professor Griff around the same time Chuck invited Hardgroove to join. He had been playing the Memphis music circuit for a while before getting the call.
Khari’s wide musical palette allows the group to take departures rarely attempted by contemporary bands.
_DJ Lord (also a Professor Griff recruit) was at the top of a short list to replace the legendary Terminator X upon his retirement. Lord has been a consistent winner of international DJ contests. His sheer athleticism on the turntables has brought the house down many times during PE concerts.
_Mike was able to pass the stringent requirements that Hardgroove presented in order to sit in the drum seat for PE. His ability to play with sequences and drum machines and make it feel musical at the same time is rare. ____We are the baNNed.

lmao i know i have been ditching allot of classes for dentist app and doctors but sleep also, man i hope i get out of this term alive. what happened about ur Financial Aid thing? least i been making some side money though, filling out those surveys online, giving my opinions n stuff. it aint been doing too bad, bout an extra 200 bucks or so a week, and the work is pretty easy, just like answering questions and giving my opinions on different things. heh, i just finished one, and it was about what freakin toothpaste do i like to use, lol. anyways, you should try it, and lemme know how it does for yah. i guess you'll have to type the link into internet explorer or whatever, but here it is:
