Baobab, a contemporary acoustic trio from Japan, weaves an original mix of
folk and world music genres on this one-off tour of New Zealand. As
professional ethnic instrument makers in Japan , Baobab's sound exhibits a
mature simplicity and naturalness. Whilst crafting and repairing instruments, Baobab undertakes a busy live schedule in Japan . Don't miss this rare

民族的なもの、ポップなものまで様々な音を独自に表現し、インストゥルメンタルと歌の融合で独特な世界観を醸し出す。声も楽器の一部と考え、一つ一つの響きを大切に表現された音楽は、風景、情景、映像を、聞く人に想像させる。２００５、夏には、全国ツアーも行い、愛・地球博にも出演。ライブのみならず、映像への音付け、CM音楽の製作なども手懸け、幅広く活動している。また、個展やライブでアートと音楽のコラボレーションなども行い、毎年春には、野外Sing Birdスペースでの自主企画コンサートを開催。空間作りからすべて自分たちの手でつくり、音楽やアートなどが自然環境の中で融合し、純粋に音を楽しみ、自然を体感し、共有するライブも行う。Ｂａｏｂａｂの音楽はある意味、ジャンルを超えたＢａｏｂａｂ Ｍｕｓｉｃ。年齢、性別、国境を越えて親しまれている。
２００７．３月より一ヶ月のワールドツアー第一弾として、20公演のニュージーランドツアーを行った。
